Layout⎪Everyday Life Matters *Write Click Scrapbook*
Hello October! The theme for Write Click Scrapbook October gallery is 'A Day In Life'. Here I am to share the layout that feature one of my boy's favourite activity - grabbing ears. *LOL* YEs, grabbing ears is one of his favourite activity nowadays along with drooling, suckling fingers, grabbing my hair. Everyone told me he is teething real soon. My only wish for him is not to be a fretful teething baby ;)
August & September has been really bad months for my scrapping + crafting life. I am still creating, but Mr. Mojo seems to be on long vacation. So before Mr. Mojo is back to work, life still goes on and I still need to scrap to de-stress, use up my supplies (so that I could buy more) and also for my monthly assignments. So I have came up with really simple strategies for my creating process.
Here's my process:
1) Pull papers from one or two collection kit + coordinating embellishments. Go for same manufacturer / same color scheme would ease the process a lot. If you are subbing scrapbooking kit, that is even better! Just pull out one of the monthly kit will do!
2) Use white card stock as a base. Sometimes I get more adventurous and use kraft / ivory or even blue cardstock as a base.
3) Start cutting up papers into strips. Don't worry about measurements. Just cut about 5~6 strips from different papers in random width.
4) Arrange the strips random until you are satisfy with the deisign & glue them down. I like to quickly glue things down when I have decided on the arrangement, and CALL IT DONE. The keyword here is CALL-IT-DONE! Even if the layout don't turn out to be as pretty as I have envisioned, I will just MOVE ON and scrap another layout. What matters is document your life, use up your supplies and keep creating.
5) Decide the position of my photo on my layout. Then start adding embellishments like stickers, die cuts and alphabets. I normally like to cluster embellishments at one or two of my photo corners. Then I will either add embellishment in a vertical / horizontal manner, overlapping some of the stickers to create interest and layers.
6) Remember to leave some white space. Add splatter or enamel dots if needed. And I would also add some machine stitching when time permits.
7) Add stamped sentiments & date and journalling.
8) I will look at the layout again to see if anything doesn't look right / complete to me. Normally I dont add much things to the layout and will just call it done.
Easy-peasy + stress-free layout under an hour is always possible. Are you up to the challenge?
