I have made 1 layout and 2 cards using my November DT kit. Loving the bright colours from this month kit - mainly green & yellow, plus there are a number of polka dots papers! I am obsessed with polka dots recently after I have gotten a pack of 100 pieces of polka dots fabric from a Japanese handicraft magazine - Couturier. FYI, I can't read Japanese but I enjoy looking at the pretty projects in awe.
Here's my layout using some random, daily photos of my Mr. Sunshine. I have received plenty of comments from friends and Instagram followers saying how smiley Ivan is. *Feeling so so blessed to have a happy baby now*
Told ya, its all about polka dots! Any ideas how many sheets polka dots papers have been used on this layout? Its a total of 4 different Polka Dots papers from Echo Park Paper Co. Other than dots, I was also obsessed with frames in this layout - from the cute polaroid frame die cut card stock (by Jillibean soup) to framing the die-cut with grey & yellow pattern papers! Talk about obsession here.
Each frame could fit a 2'x2' photo so I just printed 4 instagram photos of Ivan and added them behind the die cut randomly, Yes, the keyword is randomly. That's how I normally scrap when there isn't any sketch or design to follow. I just let the products inspired me.
Dressing each frame up with different patterned papers. And the title is a combination of stamped image (Hello os from Studio G stamp) and Thickers from Amy Tangerine. I color the word 'Sun' with my yellow mildliner to create some interest.
Do you know you could buy loose embellishments like kraft tags, pockets, flairs and paper clips at Made With Love. Go check out this cute heart shaped paper clip at MWL store. I wanted to paint the clip in white but before I could grab my white paint, my little one has woke up from his nap. So I just left it as it is and glue it down with Beacon glue.
And I also made 2 cards from this month kit. I punch 3 different sizes of circles from my scrap paper and made this card. Using up your scrap is what scrapbooking all about right?
Another card made from scrap & strips from the previous layout. I zig-zag stitch the paper strips and glue it down to my white card base. Easy-peasy. Then I layered the butterfly and sentiments chipboard stickers from me & my BIG ideas Chips. I hardly make cards nowadays but no one could bear throwing away all these pretty scraps right?
