Layout⎪ Out Of Sight.... *Citrus Twist Kits*

I have always loved this quote, out of sight, never out of mind. There are so many dogs that came into my life and left after weeks or months of fostering. And there are even some left us after days of fostering because of sickness or better still, being adopted. While I was fairly active in running a non-profit dog shelter with a bunch of fellow rescuers back in Kuala Lumpur, I even helped fostering 4 dogs at one time. Okay, fast forward this is a layout dedicated for my number 21 foster doggies - Sasha who came into our lives before Christmas last year. The rescue group in Singapore spent a few nights capturing her as they found her to have a really huge maggot wound around her neck. Thank god she was still surviving although she was in deep pain.

Sasha is the sweetest girl ever as I have always fond of having a girl dog more than a boy dog. She is young, playful and energetic. She is always very very protective as she knows that I have spent all day at my craft table, she never allow my weekly helper to get stuff from my table. How sweet she is right? I have fostered her for almost 3 months and even thought of adopting her. Talk about *foster failures* here. I have no choice but to send her back to the rescue group (that's where she came from) when my gynae wanted me to bed rest for 3 weeks to avoid having a premmies.

So I didn't really get to say goodbye to her before I went back to KL for bed rest. God knows I was all weepy and teary all the way from Singapore back to KL. I decided to dedicate a layout for this sweet girl who brought 3-months sunshine to my life.

I made a layout follow by a Citrus Twist Kits sketch. I hope this pretty sketch would inspire you to play with papers and glue, and even some mist or splatters.

I love this sketch so much and decided to flip in vertically. So I placed strips of papers and die cut vertically on a piece of white card stock, and the arrows are now moved to the bottom right of the layout. Loving those cute splatters too, so I use my Inktense black pencils to add some water and splatter with a big wet brush.

Using Citrus Twist Kit April Main Kit, PL Kit and Embellies Kit. I  didn't use a lot of patterned papers here, and instead I use a lot of die cuts from the Maggie Holmes ephemera pack. Again, you will never believe that I made this layout before I went into labour ward. Scrapping or crafting really helps me in easing the awful contraction pain. This girly layout does look perfect for a sweet girl like Sasha. But the  photo looks a little sad. That was her napping near the front door to protect us and making everything is fine.

In love with this thickers and gosh, finally I got to stitch over thickers and chipboard. Mum's sewing machine is way durable n heavy duty than my mini portable machine.

The day by day stamp is from the PL kit. I stamped from Monday to Sunday to indicate I actually miss her everyday.

Ribbons and pink are a girly layout's best elements.

Cut out the fabric polaroid frame and layer over the photos.

Thanks for looking and reading story about Sasha. I hope this post inspire you to do something with the sketch too. XoXo.

I Love Y-O-U To The Moon And Back

Do you still remember the canvas project that I posted some time ago? I love the quote ' I Love You To The Moon & Back' so much that I made this canvas for my baby room. And Studio Calico actually has a cute little stamp with this awesome quote that I know I have to get it by hook or by crook. And I was lucky enough to have got this much coveted add-on kit ' Lost Boys' during presale which sold out under 5 minutes. I could be wrong, the kit might sold out much quicker than I have realized.

I created this layout because I have printed way too many photos for my Project Life (not again!!!). So I decided to use them for a layout. The woodgrain paper from Color Conspiracy is simply perfect for the pictures of my dog peeking out from the wooden gate. Those pictures are just too cute to not scrap them right?

Again, I am determined to use up those sticker labels from Jenni Bowlin Studio from my Studio Calico January kit. So I lined them up next to the photos vertically and adding some ribbons, tags from Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook', stickers and washi tapes. This layout is heavily inspired by Wilna Furstenberg (my scrap idol) with her way of arranging embellies on a page & stitching layout creatively. You might not be able to see clearly here but I actually made an effort to stitch some ruffled crepe papers under the photos.

p/s: Do you notice the little chipboard birdie on the top left corner? It's so apt because Marco (the dog on the top) waters (okay, I mean fertilizes) the guava tree everyday that those little birdies comes visiting everyday.

Here's the title of the layout. Stamp with Versamark and heat embossed with Zing Gold powder.

No journaling added on this layout as those tiny yellow stickers pretty much tell you the character of each dog.

Her name is Happy Girl so the sticker is so apt ;)

My ♥♥ for my messy + wonky stitches. It seems I can't complete a layout or PL spread without adding some machine stitching recently.

I whipped out this layout under two hours. The most time consuming part would be trying to stitch the ruffled crepe papers before adding anything else. Too bad the amount of time & effort I have spent doesn't justify the texture of the crepe papers added. Once the stitching work is done, the rest of the layout came up pretty quickly. I think I will definitely scrap another similar layout by placing the embellies vertically / horizontally next to the photos. Call me a weirdo but I just love using up those stuff that I have gotten from a kit else I tend to hoard them for no reason.

Thanks for looking, XoXo.

Enjoying My Last Lap - Week 32

Before I shared my layout, today I started my morning with whole loads of mess! All thanks to my two fostered dogs. Firstly, the younger dog - Sasha decided she is better off sleeping on the floor than her comfy baby bed. So she just ripped the whole bed apart and it looked like we were having a terrible BLIZZARD here! I think she was having so much fun creating such a huge mess but NO FUN for me.

And then the other dog - Junior stepped on Sasha's poop for the second time this week! There were shitty paw prints all over the floor... From backyard, all the way to kitchen, craft area, living hall and also his bed! What a way to start my day. Since I am a Project Lifer, so I should embrace and enjoy every little moment in my life right? So I took out my camera to document all these and these are definitely going into my PL album!

This is just a quick layout that I made after completing my Project Life Week 8. Trying to use up every bits that was left over from the PL spreads as I am too lazy to clean up the 'craftermath'. I actually stamps some feathers with glue pad and sprinkled over some some Martha Stewart Opal Fire (Bronze) glitter but it just turned out awful. So i covered those glitter feathers with tonnes of embellies that were left over from my Studio Calico 'HeyDay' ephemera pack. I even added a piece of gold polka dots vellum on the top left corner but it was way too distracting, so I decided to rip it apart and that explains why i have random machine stitching there. But I quite like how it turn out eventually, so talk about happy accidents ;) At least its something out of my comfort zone and I am stitching my layout in a so-called creative way by following prompts from Wilna F's Art Class.

I am running out of ideas for the title of my baby bump layouts! Any ideas for next week baby bump layout? The embellies are kinda overwhelming but i also like how it was toned down by the pale blue pattern paper. The glitter splatter is from Martha Stewart Blue Saphire but it looks more like silver here. It's a very pretty blue glitter!

Told ya, the blue glitter is simply gorgeous! I normally hate working with glitters because it would end up being all over the craft desk and the floor but not on my projects! And the best part is, my dogs like to sleep next to my desk when I am crafting so talk about adding glitter to the doggies instead of layouts! >_<

I like to messy-stitch the corner back and forth to create some texture to my layout. It is my first time adding messy stitches in such a way.

Those were the brads that I was very determined to use 'em up after been hoarding for ages. I added messy stitches again and stamped over it for some added interest. Gonna do this again!

I am off to create another layout inspired by Amy Tangerine Signature Series now! Hopefully i would be able to get it done before i go out for my antenatal classes in the evening. Thanks for looking and leaving comments! XoXo.

Eat.Drink.BeMerry

Merry {belated} Christmas & Happy New Year to all! Not sure where to hang my DIY wreath so it goes to Junior's neck.

This is my $2 mini Xmas tree from Typo. The mini bulbs ornaments are way cuter in 'person'!

I love how we spent the christmas weekend together with my family & friends. We had pre-xmas dinner on saturday, Boxing day dinner and also an upcoming post-Xmas dinner/party this coming weekend. Busy busy eh? ;) I hope you have a great christmas celebration too!

And this is our log cake from FairPrice Finest. Not a big fan but parents were so excited having their very first log cake.

I made this using Studio Calico Sock Hop card kit. I dreamt of four pigs on my card & also the sentiment. So I made this card first thing in the morning when I woke up. I want the sentiments to be tone-on-tone while having a few colorful pigs.

Made another postcard using the {left-over} die-cutting letters.  And I colored way too many ice creams after I got my new Derwent Inktense color pencils.

I made this cloud mobile ages ago for Ethan's birthday. I don't know why I made him a baby mobile while we were dating a few years ago. Just to clarify, Ethan is my husband, not son ;P I think this baby mobile would be perfect for our baby room now.

And these are the Xmas prezzies for the baby from My parents & Koko

No harm posting a few pictures of sunshiny smiles from my furkids right? We brought them out for shopping during Xmas.

Me & Ethan. Trying to show off my baby bump @ Week 24.

And I have been busy crafting + shopping + eating throughout the whole weekend too. I have started on making a {not-so-mini} xmas album for this year. Will definitely share the project once it's completed. Thanks for looking. XoXo.

So Cute It Hurts

Been really busy with my Cameo. Tried cutting frosted glass sticker that I gotten from my brother. It cuts like butter and super easy to peel-off although my blade is kinda blunt. Stick this 'EAT/ DRINK/ BE MERRY' fonts on my kitchen glass door.

I am also busy trying my hands on Derwent Inktense Color Pencils after reading the recommendations by Jennifer Mcguire. One of my scrappy friends got the Inktense 36 for me in ArtFriend Singapore as it is only half the price selling @ Simon Says Stamp. I am amazed by the depth of color and the immediate ease of which these pencils mix with water. The only drawback is this set of color (even the 72 colors) doesn't come with lighter shades e.g. light pink, light blue etc.

And my cameo has been busy working on creating layouts and cards too. Here's one of my recent layouts with Junior's candid photo.

Mainly using Studio Calico November kit: Sock Hock & Poodle Skirt. I try stitching the tabs using thicker needle and much slower speed and so glad that it works! I will try stitching chipboard alphas soon and see how it goes.

The cameo cut-out titles. Layer with misted kraft card stock.

very minimal layering here as I want the title & the pretty pattern paper to be really really loud. Oh by the way, this 'fave heart' is part of the elements from Paislee Press 'You Are My Fave' digi kit. I converted it into cut files.

That's it for today! Off to coloring my stamp images again. XoXo.

Meow In Da House (Amineko)

This is the ta-dah moment that I can't wait to share with you all!

It's huge, isn't it?

Mr Meow loves my doggie Popcorn

Whoopsie... gotcha!

Mr Meow took up the whole bed here

The hamster, the meow and the dog get-together >_<

Been thinking of making this amineko ever since i started crocheting few years back but I am never persevere to complete a huge project like this. Love this cat to bits and it totally worth my 4 days of handwork + 7 skein of 100g yarn for this awesome meow~ using J hook (the largest hook size I have) and three bags of polyfil, small pebbles (to weigh the buttock and limbs down) lead to a 3ft tall amineko meow.  I have yet to name the meow yet... Any ideas? My mum suggested me to do this huge meow again in PINK and make them a couple. I guess I would need to stop crochet-ing thick yarn for a while as it really hurts my wrist! It's time to get back to my granny square blanket.

p/s: I use the original super huge Amineko crochet pattern form this japanese website.

❤ XoXo

It's All About Doggies

Hello there! I have been crafting a lot but I am just too lazy to post my work to the blog. This is my crafting journal to record all my crafty stuff, so I will do my best to catch up from now on. I promise =)

I created TWO more layouts using my Studio Calico June Kit after making 6 layouts + 2 minis. Must make my very very first SC kit goes extra extra miles!

1) Junior @ EastCoast Park
First time using my cameo to die cut the chevron hot air balloon and use it as a mask for misting. I have smashed the pics before but I just these pics so much and decided to make another layout for Junior's day out.

Mist with Mister Huey White mist & outline with Uniball Signo White Pen.

Love using my cameo... But not sure why the blade is blunt after cutting a few pieces of card stocks =(

2) Liposuction
Decided to create a layout with OMBRE themed after seeing it everywhere. created this layout after being inspired by Adrienne from Tablescraps.

Love the banners!

Inked the thickers with Versa color. Took a while to dry though

These are un-appealing pictures of Happy girl. The arrows pointed towards her super fat neck!

 3) Photo Inspectors

Found these funny pics of my doggies inspecting their own huge photo frames in my laptop. There isn't any reason not to scrap these cute photos right? Love the pretty colors from Crate Paper - Pretty Party collection. I scrap lifted this layout from one of the CP designer - Sophie Crespe. Check out the her awesome layout here.

A whitish / subtle title seems to work well with a colorful / busy layout. I substitute the 'O' with a pink button.

4) It's A Party
Another cute-sie pics of my 3 dogs... Now I got you wonder how many dogs do I have right? I have a total of E-I-G-H-T dogs in Msia, 3 of them (in the pics above) are staying with my in-laws & another 5 are staying with my parents.

I heat embossed the wood veneer with Pink Zing and stamped the title. Love the way it turned out.

I was inspired by Adrienne from TableScrap to use this pattern paper + grid stamp.

Keep layering and layering + added tonnes of embellies.

I have more than 10 layouts and a few mini albums to show you guys! stay tuned & I promise I will update my blog periodically. TFL!
