Hello there, it's been busy (but in a good way) in May. I am pretty amazed with how much I have created and how many blog post I have published this month given my crazy schedule. Time is always not enough nowadays and I have decided to cut down my design team works so that I could spend more time with Ivan. I really want to enjoy his toddlerhood more + I do not want to turn scrapping into a chore for me. Today I am back with a layout that I made for Made With Love, with a simple challenge. Firstly, I would like to show you 3 of my favourite things whenever I create. Okay, three seems too little and I am sure I have like hundreds of favourite things, or maybe everything from scrapbook store. After spending hours picking my supplies, I narrow down my list to these three:
1. Puffy stickers! the puffier the better ;P and also enamel dots
2. Vellum Die Cuts
3. Distress Paints
Okay okay, I know there are four here, but I just want to group puffy stickers and enamel dots together.
And here's what I created with the supplies mentioned above, heavily inspired by Wilna's recent video. I wanted to have colour paints over the black patterned paper from Amy Tangerine which is totally opposite from what Wilna made in her video.
I started typing the quote on my Silhouette Studio using the font CoCoGoose and arrange the alignment and cut it on a piece of smooth white card stock. Paint the rainbow colour using Distress Paints and layer it over a piece of black patterned paper from May Tangerine PlusOne collection. I love that distress paints are thick and vibrant, and it doesn't make the paper buckle at all.
Once I am done, I printed really small photos (3 photo in a piece of 4x6 photo paper) and lay it above the title. Added some vellum die cuts, enamel dots, puffy stickers and die cut that I made with eBosser + Cas-ual Friday dies then I am good to go.
During busy days, I really love how a quick + simple layout turn out to be. And now more details about the challenge + giveaway: 1. Take a photo of your project (be it old or new layout) using one of the favourite supplies that I have mentioned above.

Then I chanced upon the Sunday Sketch challenge (21/1/2013) hosted by Studio Calico. Sasha & Julie's recipe challenge is fun and inspiring :
Make a layout or card following this recipe:
4 squares - ✓ (I have 2 square and 2 rectangles, that make 4 of them)
3 small round embellishments - ✓ (1 wood veneer arrow, 2 badges, 3 roses and 3 enamel dots)
alphabet stamps - ✓ (stamped my titles with various alpha stamps)
paper strips (cardstock, patterned paper, journaling strips, etc.) - ✓ (to frame my title)
mist - ✓ (Mister Huey Sunshine & Buttercup)
Okay, firstly I gotta admit i was trying my best to stitch straight line to frame my layout. You could clearly tell that I have already tried my best right? ;)
I pulled out a few pieces of papers from my Studio Calico Jan kit but I seriously have no idea how to pull all the things together by following the recipe. I tried moving the photos around and finally I came up with this. I misted the background lightly with my TCW 12x12 stencil using Mister Huey Butter Cup and Sunshine. I am loving YELLOW color right now as yellow always makes a page pop!
I pull out all the alpha stamps that I have (about 3 ~4 of them) and started stamping my title. I didn't even bother lining the alphas up properly as I haven't been making really clean and tidy layout recently.
And after stamping the 3 bicycles on the layout, I kinda regret i was being greedy and stamped too many of it on the layout. So I smudge the last 2 bicycles with white ink pads to fade it out.
I also added some sequins, hearts and arrow to dress up each of the square / rectangle. I love how colorful it turn out eventually although It is totally different from what I had in mind at the beginning. B&W photos are the best fit for colorful layouts!
Gotta rush back to Malaysia this evening and I have yet to pack my luggage and stuff for my dogs to go for pet-boarding. Thanks for looking. XoXo!
.... my Silhoutte Cameo... I barely reach for my stash of Thickers for titles ever since I owned a Silhouette. Recently I am so in love with big & bold title (i.e. huge title with smaller photo(s)). For this layout, I used the cut-out letters from my previous layout after being inspired by Jen Gallacher's Seeing Double video tute in 2peas. I pushed myself to use up the cut out fonts left over from my previous layout.
Love Love Love is a special layout that the little photo speaks for itself! Photo was taken by my elder brother in Dec 2012, China Town Singapore. Mum and dad visited Chinatown during their honeymoon 30 years ago and now they re-visit the place again, with me+my husband, my brother and sister in law. The 2 big potty people wood veneer are my mum and dad, the three little potty people are my brothers and me.
Misted the L-O-V-E with different colors of Mister Huey to create a bright and bold title. Just love how the B&W photo popped out despite how colorful this layout is.
I have three little journalling tags tucked behind the flowers.

It's been a while since I created a layout to join a sketch challenge. The layout was completed close to 2 weeks ago but I have been procrastinating (really bad) in posting it up. I love sketches for small photos ever since I have started Smash*ing and gotten use to work with smaller-sized photos..

Finally I am not too lazy to try embossing technique on my layout.
fyi, the camera is stamped with versa mark & embossed with Zing powder.
Love using jute twines as usual and I decided to go with a more subtle (tinier) title for this layout.
I always keep all the bits and pieces of papers and couldn't bear to throw them away. So i decide the wrap this tiny stripe of paper around the circle punched out.
Hate working Monday-Saturday, and sometimes Sunday but I keep telling myself life is berry sweet because:
My Mr Strong Man will always be there for me to carry my heavy mail parcel and shopping bag
My furries made my weekends fabulous
Bathing + sunbathing my furries
Highlight of my trip back to Kuala Lumpur... will be meeting up with my scrappy friend.
My scrappy friend hand-carved all these lovely rubber stamps.
I also made good use of my long weekend by fostering 2 puppies from the doggie shelter.
It was no doubt very busy + tiring weekend to keep cleaning up the mess but having them around is super fun! I enjoy watching them playing and chasing my furries.
And also visiting my rescued-then-rehomed baby - Sammy boy who is now renamed as Maximus Crime (Max). I rescue Sammy the miniature pinscher (the black doggie) back in June last year and it took us over 4 months to get him a loving home. You can find more about Sammy's story here.

My month of May was spent celebrating National Scrapbook Day (NSD) & Mother's day, Smashing, card-making, meeting out with girlies & furries & scrappies, how 'bout yours?
James is Ethan's Uni mates back in Manchester. James' wife (Gunjan) recently has delivered 2 premmies (at week 26) who weigh 1lb 13oz and 1lb 6oz each. Gunjan's doing much better after her surgery but her BP is still high, so she is on 5 different meds to try and control it. Hopefully she will be discharged from the hospital soon. Rohan, the bigger boy is off his ventilator and breathing on his own. He seems pretty calm and usually has a hand down his diaper or grabbing his crotch like Micheal Jackson. While Krish (the smaller one) is very feisty and likes to punch his nurse when she changes his diaper. He is on a ventilator to help him breath. (Updated: James just emailed to say that Krish is now off his ventilator too! Hoo ray!) My own elder brother (who is now 29 y/o) was a preemies too. He was delivered at week 28, weighed 4lb 2oz. Mum told us how difficult it was to take care of a premmies. So I totally feel the situation J&G are facing right now. Me and Ethan thought of sending our warm wishes from Singapore to US with this bright and colorful card, hoping this would make their day.
This card is made with only card stocks, no pattern papers. Will use this card to join Paper Smooches Card Challenge.
This card has a papa flower (with blue heart) and a mama flower (red lips + pink heart) which symbolize James & Gunjan. The three bees symbolized their elder daughter and Rohan & Krish the premmies. I want this colorful background to looks like a sunny day. Off to send our warm thoughts to James, Gunjan & the little ones. Get well soon.
I spent almost 30 minutes just on the ray of light background and then I found the tutorial of making this ray background from Simon Says Stamps. >_< And you can download the template here too!
Then I proceeded to make another 'belated' birthday card for my bestie, L.
I am such a bad friend that have totally forgotten her birthday. >_< I made this card in order to make it up for her. I hope she <3 it. Love love love this pic taken in KLCC a few weeks ago when we had a quick catch up back in Kuala Lumpur. And all thanks to the awesome photographer, Cheryl =) You rocks, babe! ❤

I have no idea how he learnt how to use my paper trimmer, twines, inks and stamps. He spent quite some time doing it while I was taking my evening nap. I asked why did he draw a koala (a doggie) with big heart and me being so much shorter on the tag. =) I went Awwww...... when I saw this tag and knowing how he trying to use all my scrapping tools to came out with this card. Isn't he super duper sweet? ❤ Oh ya, he even used my SMASH date stamp at the back with some archival inks.
Okie dokie. I am super happy that I got to spent plenty of time to craft (and blog) during the National Scrapbook Weekend. I really need to catch up on Smashing my daily life. And I totally adore the idea of Ethan joined along by making a cute tag for me. Off to study now after I have been procrastinating a week.... my last re-sit paper on this Thursday. Wish me luck! I have a dear husband who is totally hopeless in taking pictures & not really into gadgets. So I am always the Ms. Photographer during our trip. It's just not many decent pictures of myself being taken. So camwhoring is one of my favorite things to do too! Who doesn't like pretty pictures of themselves?
For this layout, I have used Artful Delight March Sketch for & plenty of Dear Lizzy goodies. I think I am the first one who submitted the layout, even way before Leanne has posted those LOs by the DT. I just have to create a layout out of this pretty sketch by Abby when I saw it last night. Since I have used quite a number of stickers here, I decided to submit this LO for Scrapbookers Anonymous March Challenge too.
Single photo LO sketch again? Easy-peasy... =P
But I combined 6 polaroid frames as a photo instead.... let's see how it turned out...

I just have to use the Dear Lizzy papers! Everything here is from the latest Dear Lizzy line, only the chipboard Alphas is from AC Thickers. I still follow the sketch as much as I could, and I only switched the single photo to a 6 small polaroid frames.
I made some confetti by punching the small circles with my regular puncher & Crop-a-dile. Gluing them down with Inkssentials Glue & Sealer. Then I finished it up by brushing another layer of the Sealer to secure the tiny bits. It looks much much prettier in real life *I swear* Not sure why my camera couldn't capture how pretty it is =(

Putting this layout together is pretty quick. I just pull all Dear Lizzy goodies together and pick whichever fonts & embellies that I would love to use. The trickiest part would be sticking the confetti down.
