As promised on Instagram a week ago, I am sharing the tutorial on how I made those beautiful sequin pockets that I always post on my IG feed. Let's get started now!
Here's a quick glance of tools and supplies that you need:
1) Stamp set
2) Versamark (for embossing)
3) Embossing Powder (I either use American Crafts Zing or Hero Arts White embossing powder)
4) Acrylic block / Stamp press (for stamping)
5) Heat Gun
6) Sequins (you can get a wide range of colored sequins from my Big Cartel here)
7) Sewing Machine
I always make sequin pockets in 3'x4' so that I could use them on my Project Life spread. First stamp with Versamark and sprinkle embossing powder. Remember to tap those excess powder off. And heat the stamped image with heat gun.
Here's a comparison of Versamark stamped image —> added embossing powder —> embossed image after heat with heat up.
Then stitch two pieces of vellum papers together. Remember you will only need to stitch 3 sides of the pocket.
Add sequins. I always like to mix at least 3 colors of sequins in a sequin pocket. Stitch the pocket again.
And ta-dah! You are done! Easy right? Do tag me @happiescrappie or drop a link in the comment below if you have made sequin pockets with my tutorial. Have fun!
For those who don't have sewing machine or heat gun to make the pockets, do feel free to check out my shop. I do sell them in a set of 6 pockets too!
