&Made Love

It's been a while since I posted the mini albums that I have made. Making minis are never my forte as the thought of start making an album is always intimidating. I normally make mini albums as birthday gift or farewell gift as there are just too many pictures to be included in a layout.

All the photos used in the album were taken @ &made by Bruno Menard, a Michelin-starred chef. It is located just next to my previous office and we normally drop by for lunch during our payday. Food is simply awesome that I wanna go back again & again although I am never a fans of burgers. I absolutely love their range of desserts.

I made this album for one of my colleague before I left the company. Mainly using October Afternoon Cakewalk, Pretty Little Studios embellies, Studio Calico stamp sets and lots of washi tapes. I love the restaurant menu so much and I used it as the base of some of the pages. The whole album is mainly colorful papers + kraft colored menu.

Silly photos of us. Too many pics for one layout. Thats the reason I started making this minis.

Bits of stamp image were placed randomly. all over the album.

Love the quote EAT/DRINK/BE MERRY. This quote will never go wrong when it comes to food-themed album / layout.

Front and back of the album. Whoops... I made this back in Jul 2012 =P Been procrastinating posting the pictures on my blog.

Thanks for looking. XoXo.

So Cute It Hurts

Been really busy with my Cameo. Tried cutting frosted glass sticker that I gotten from my brother. It cuts like butter and super easy to peel-off although my blade is kinda blunt. Stick this 'EAT/ DRINK/ BE MERRY' fonts on my kitchen glass door.

I am also busy trying my hands on Derwent Inktense Color Pencils after reading the recommendations by Jennifer Mcguire. One of my scrappy friends got the Inktense 36 for me in ArtFriend Singapore as it is only half the price selling @ Simon Says Stamp. I am amazed by the depth of color and the immediate ease of which these pencils mix with water. The only drawback is this set of color (even the 72 colors) doesn't come with lighter shades e.g. light pink, light blue etc.

And my cameo has been busy working on creating layouts and cards too. Here's one of my recent layouts with Junior's candid photo.

Mainly using Studio Calico November kit: Sock Hock & Poodle Skirt. I try stitching the tabs using thicker needle and much slower speed and so glad that it works! I will try stitching chipboard alphas soon and see how it goes.

The cameo cut-out titles. Layer with misted kraft card stock.

very minimal layering here as I want the title & the pretty pattern paper to be really really loud. Oh by the way, this 'fave heart' is part of the elements from Paislee Press 'You Are My Fave' digi kit. I converted it into cut files.

That's it for today! Off to coloring my stamp images again. XoXo.

Feels Like Carrie Bradshaw

This is the decor on one of my 2x2 Expedit Shelf. This is where we normally keep our keys, coins and bits of stuff from pockets. I saw this paper roll christmas tree from our LSS and was inspired to make a mini-version for our home. Now that with the wreath on the door and a mini Xmas tree, it feels more like December now =)

Lucky me... after doing my daily chores, I would be spending time at my craft area and start scrapping layouts or making cards. My scrapbook stash has grown exponentially and it simply couldn't my spending if I don't spend more time scrapping and crafting. And I am also worried that when the baby is out, I would be coping with baby and have no scrappy time. Any tips for this mum-to-be?

So here's another layout of mine. Loving the pictures of me and my sister in law, taken by my brother. We were out shopping for their wedding stuff in Singapore and they were totally amazed by the awesome Silhouette Cameo. They came up with plenty of wedding reception decor ideas using those silhouette cut files and then I ordered another Cameo for them without much hesitation.

This is just the 3rd layout using Studio Calico November kit: Sock Hock & Poodle Skirt. I started painting the white card stock with the leftover acrylic paint for my Xmas Canvas and build my layering from there.

Glitter alphas make me feel like a Hollywood celeb!

Banners & sewing. Now that I could sew in a relatively straighter line. hehe.

TFL. Do leave me a comment so that I could visit your blog too! And Happy Friday! Xoxo.

Week 19: Happy Moments

My recent layouts are mostly about my weekly pregnancy pictures. I have been procrastinating on making a mini album to document my pregnancy journey for weeks. Maybe I shall start when I get my Silhouette Cameo back. Oh back to my pregnancy, I am currently on my week 22. Baby is about 11.38 inches long and 1.10 pounds (the size of a mango) according to Babyzone.com. I will definitely find out the more accurate weight during my Saturday antenatal check-up. My doctor mentioned I gotta put on approx 16kg of weight throughout my pregnancy and I have only put on approx 2kg (lost 2.5kg gained 4.5kg) since I got pregnant. *blessed* I can still fit into my old skinny jeans, mind you, it's US size 2 jeans!

Back to scrapbooking, it's been a while since I scrap any B&W photos. Love how the B&W would match with any cardstocks or patterned papers perfectly. I stick to mainly turquoise, yellow & red for this layout. And this is just the 2nd layout I made using Studio Calico November kit + add-on. My recent layouts are all about messy stitches with my horrible sewing skill and messy layerings. These layouts come up pretty quirky because I don't need to use a paper trimmer and it is always easier to stitch a crooked line than the straight ones. >_<

I love badges. Badges are the new black in scrapbooking world. I was just using normal stapler on my layout. Been resisting myself getting the Tim Holtz tiny attacher. Should I should I not? =)

Just keep layering the embellies from the kit. <3 the Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic soft pastel color here.

Trying to stitch through the glitter alpha but the sewing needles broke twice =( Any ideas? I will try with thicker needles and thread when I get hold of those stuff. I wonder how others stitch through their chipboard Thickers and albums pages?

Thanks for looking! I hope everybody has fun crafting for christmas goodies and decor. XoXo.

Long Overdue... Week 12

Just a quick post to share one of my not-so-recent layout, baby ultrasound pics @ week 12. I got the inspiration to stitch circle on layout from Swiss Girl Design blog some time back. Never got the chance to do it until I have placed the sewing machine on my desk permanently.

A simple layout with color inspiration from Color Me Scrappy Challenge 17. I totally missed the submission date and forgotten to post the layout on my blog.

Anyway, here's my layout. Stitched heart in circle, love how pretty it turned out to be.

And lastly, meet my new foster doggie Sasha. She is a rescue from HOPE Dog Rescue Singapore. She was found with a huge maggot wound on her neck and is currently fostered by yours truly since 2 weeks ago. She is such a lovely scrapbook buddy who sleep next to me whenever I am at my craft area.
She would love to join me for a scrapbook crop too! Any takers for this sweetie? I love her almond eyes to bits.

Thanks for looking. XoXo.

Happy Little Cards

When I am lack of mojo to scrap or I am just too intimidated by the 12x12 LOs (fellow scrappers, I'm sure you get what I mean, hehe), I would start looking for my stamp sets and see what are the cute little cards that I could come up with.

Here are a few simple cards that I completed during my sleepless nights and feeling a little crafty:-

1)  A Pick-Me-Up card for my dear husband.
Hello hubby if you are reading my blog! *Waving* I used mainly Amy Tangerine Sketchbook and Paper Smooches Vegtastic stamp set. I had so much fun playing with my embossing powder & heat gun ever since I have my own craft area. Tools and supplies are always around me so I am more keen to use more tools when I'm crafting.

2) A super belated Birthday card for my scrappy friend, Cheryl. TO be honest, I made the card much much earlier, but I only managed to pass the prezzies + card to her a month after her 21st birthday. Happy belated birthday, Cheryl! :)

The stamp set is from Lawn Fawn, Happy Summer. I stamped the talking ant upside down so I gotta stamp another talking ant and popped it up on the card. I love adding stickles to my cards nowadays. Maybe it's chirstmas real soon, don't you agree?

I am loving the inside of the card. I splattered 3 different colors of Studio Calico Mists. I think I am gonna make another LOs or cards with this cute splattered background.

3) And finally it's some christmas-ie cards. I just realized I do not have christmas-themed papers nor stamp sets in my stash. I seriously could not believe this when I have several boxes of patterned papers and stamp sets.

So I just make do with some not-so-christmas-ie papers from Crate Papers, die cutting the penguins using my Cameo and stamp some christmas sentiments. It ended up looking kinda Christmas-ie after adding some Stickles and Silver-n-Gold embossed fireworks patterns (which I think it resembles snowflakes, hahahaha) right?

4) I am loving the bubbles mask from Studio Calico so I misted the background way before I knew what I wanted to do with the card. Adding some green papers, Red stickles and twines, then we could have a lovely christmas card without any christmas supplies in our stash right?

I had so much fun digging through my stash trying to make my cards look more christmasy and am happy that I finally have used up some of the supplies. Okay, I gotta be frank here....  making only 4 cards here definitely have not make a dent in my stash considering The rate i build up my stash. Isn't that a norm between scrapbookers and card makers?

Thanks for dropping by. XoXo.

I'm So Thankful @ 18 Week

Yay! Finally I have completed an LOs during one of my sleepless nights. My first time doing an LOs featuring my baby bump and yea, i know, more to come as I have at least 20 more weeks to go. I have so many crafty plans journal this wonderful journey.

November is Thanksgiving month but we don't celebrate this in Malaysia & Singapore. It's always good to be thankful right? So I have came up with this thankful-themed LOs. This LOs used mainly the supplies from Studio Calico October Main kit: Roller Rink and also some scraps laying around my desk.

Some close up of the LOs:

I am still pretty much in love with the Hello speech bubble from Studio Calico. I love how the turquoise turn out on the kraft paper.

Do you notice the gold glitter splatter? I am so thrilled on how sparkling it turn out to be. Watch the tutorial on Swiss Girl Design here. Simple but messy. My desk is always covered with glitter after this.

Notice some sewing n stitching on the LOs? Just because I finally took out my good ol' sewing machine and make good use of it. But I still can't sew a straight line yet. lols

This is the little tag i tucked under one of the picture. This pic is over-exposed, but I'm loving the background.

Oh by the way, since I have got nothin' better to do nowadays, might as well join some scrapbook challenges right? I am entering the layout for Color Me Scrappy Challenge #16. I hope my LOs matches the turquoise color scheme as shown below.

Something random here: I was using my dad's Nikon DSLR to take pics so that I could decide whether I should add a DSLR to my baby shopping list. You need a good and reliable camera to capture those awesome moments, don't you? *wink* I am using this Sigma wide angle lens and the layout looks kinda distorted when I tried to take picture without zooming in. lols. So much more to learn here.

Just in case you are wondering, this is my new crafty friend. Someone who be with me through thick and thin, ups and down, warm and cold whenever I am crafting. He basically follow me every where while I am at home.

Another random pics of my backyard. I need a gardener! and those herbs are dying and grasses are growing like nobody business. I am checking wiki & eHow on how to take care of those fragile herbs.

p.s. if you observe the LOs closely, you will know the gender of the baby that I'm expecting ;)

Thanks for dropping by. Happy Thanksgiving!

Updates!

Whoopsie! It has been almost T-W-O months since I updated my blog. For my closer friends, they knew exactly what I had been up to. Baby bumps, mini renovation, moving house and wedding reception (my own wedding, of course!) are all the major events that kept me FULLY occupied for the past two months. I didn't scrap much as the smell of papers made me feel so ILL during my first trimester so i resorted to hooks and yarn only. Then I gotta force myself to completed 400 gift tags for my own wedding gifts with some assistance from mum. I shall post up on how I managed to complete 400 personalized gift tags in my future post. So stay tuned!

Baby said Hello at week 12!

Moving in on 20 October. In the midst of un-boxing & tidying up the craft area.

Completed 400 cupcake tags for my wedding gift while moving house.

Then we went to Malacca for a mini getaway with our friends from China. We skipped the trip to Krabi because my in laws & husband didn't allow me to take flight during the end of my first trimester.

Finally we are back to our Home Sweet Home in Singapore with our fostered doggie, Junior. A home will not be completed without ❤ and doggies ;)

And my rescued dog passed away two weeks ago at age 15. RIP, Madame Wong.

And finally baby bump is showing at Week 18.

It's time to go to bed now. Having really really bad sinusitis since last weekend. Will definitely make time to update my blog more often and share with you guys all my completed projects. I have been scrapping, making cards, sewing and crochet-ing. Nights nights!
