Blog Hop⎪Elle's Studio X Gossamer Blue Blog Hop

Hello there! February is truly a blog hopping month for me eh? This month Elle's Studio and Gossamer Blue DTs are going to have a blog hop sharing their creativity to inspire you in so many ways.

This is the very first time I play with Gossamer Blue kits and voila! I have created a total of 3 layouts with their awesome kits! And I really have so much fun creating with the kits. I am in love with the valentine theme in February kit and also the exclusive cute wood veneers. I love the heart shapes, the mint elements and all the envelopes in this month kit. I know the kit is full of valentine goodies from Elle's Studio and Crate Paper, but I made 3 layouts that aren't too lovey-dovey ;)

Here's what I have came up with:

1. You Make My ❤ Sing - Using Main Kit only

I started layering papers and photo on this patterned paper that has dictionary pattern. I am so in love with this photo of me and my boy holding a flower. So I decided to cut the word ' You Make My Heart Sing' from one of the Elle's Studio patterned paper and substitute the heart with a chipboard ❤ - To shorten the title in order to match the height of the photo.

I also added moulding paste to the background with my new love - Heidi Swapp heart stencil ;) So much LOVE on this page!

Just gotta love all the embellies & stickers from the main kit so I clustered them in this corner.

2. A Little ❤ Note To You

This layout is inspired by the envelopes that came in the add-on kit. I asked my husband to write a letter to my boy and I tuck it into the envelope. I would show my boy this love letter from daddy when he grows a little older ;) Since this layout is all about a love letter from daddy to son, I fussy cut the cute envelope patterned paper from Elle's Studio and create a border under the photo. I also added more heart shaped transparency and the cute badges  (from Crate Paper)  to add more texture and layering. This is my favourite layout that I created from the Gossamer Blue kit.

Just gotta love the transparency pack that came in the Add-on kit ;)

This Thickers is not from the kit but it is from Crate Paper Love Note Collection. Love love love the cute heart shapes and I just stacked two different sizes together

3. Obsession

This layout documented my current obsession - Crochet. I don't crochet sweaters, hat or scarf, but I crochet stuffed dolls - amigurumi. You can see some of my amigurumi creations here. I wanted to create a multi-photo layout so I printed 3 instagram photos in 2' x 2'. I also break away from my normal habit of using white card stocks as background - I used cream colour card stock to match the color of my pom-pom purim (the pudding dog in the left photo)

Die cuts using my Craftwell eBosser x Lawn Fawn dies.

P1241646

Typed title: Obsession with my vintage typewriter. Simply love the script font.

P1241647

Love love love clustered embellies around my photos as usual ;)

P1241648

p.s. The word JAN is from my own stash ;) I put the month : Jan 2014 instead of date because this is my current obsession in the month of January. If you squint your eyes, you might notice I also machine stitched along the triangle patterned paper - to make it like a quilt. I love adding subtle texture to my pages.

Phew! I still have a tonnes of goodies left from my Gossamer Blue kits after making 3 layouts. Will definitely come back to use them up when I am done with my other assignment. And now, hop over to Yuki's blog next to see what she has came up with the Gossamer Blue kit!

My Sweet Valentine

I have added these photos to my Project Life Week 7 but I just love them so much that they truly deserve a layout on its own. I started by cutting a big heart on a piece of scrap paper to make my own stencil. Then started adding splattering with different colors of Mister Huey (Buttercup & Dewey) + Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Georgie Peach, Sweet Cherry, Mustard, Tropicana Teal, Mint Green & Primrose). I finally change my sewing machine thread from the boring white to a thicker black thread and added a stitched heart as my background. It looks more like doodling than machine stitching though.

I only work with everything in my Crate Paper Fourteen collection kit just because I want a more cohesive look on this layout. Using the trendiest color combination right now which is Pink & Teal.

Wood grain thickers is my current favorite now =) The rose on the right is a stamp from Paper Smooches that I stamped with white embossing powder and color with some awesome Distress Markers.

Just keep layering and layering. Oh, did I mention I love using hot glue gun when I want to create more texture / depth to my layout?

That's all for this simple valentine-themed layout. I have already send this layout to Crate Paper to join their RED challenge. Have you scrapped the photos that you have taken during this year valentine's day? Thanks for looking. XoXo.

It's Getting A Little Mushy Here

Hi there, Valentine's day is just around the corner and valentine-themed goodies are popping out at every online store. I am a big fans of pink and ❤, that explains why I am a sucker for all things valentines.

I haven't been feeling too well for the past two days and my both legs hurt so much that I could barely walk. But I managed to scrap a mushy layout for Ethan during one of my sleepless night. A very simple layout following the 3 prompts provided by Anna-Maria's video tute: 213 in 2013. These are the prompts:
1. Use a mask and mists on the page. - ✓ (misted with SC Dewey & Powder Blue, Amphersand mask)
2. Try to recycle the frames from your stickers. -
✓ (the Twine + Ink frame is hiding at the bottom right corner)
3. Make some stamping with one motif. -
✓ (stamping the ampersand 3 times! but one of the stamp image was covered by my photo)

And here's my take:

This layout used mainly supplies from Studio Calico January Kit. I am in love with the cloud paper from American Crafts and also the mistable heart-shaped chipboard from Pink Paislee. I find that by using the prompts, I actually push myself to dig into my stash i.e. start using the mask when misting and  also recycling the frames from my label stickers.

The photo frame is from Three Paper Peonies - Made page kit. I use the print and cut function on my cameo and finally it cuts perfectly!

Oh ya, I love these cute little wood veneers from Freckled Fawn too!

Amphersand is the new black nowadays! I see this shape popping up in many many scrapbook pages!

I am digging all these valentine's-themed goodies here:

1) Crate Paper Fourteen Collection

2) Pink Paislee Heart Chipboard

3) Simon Says Stamps Stamp set
4)  Freckled Fawn Wood Veneer

5) Echo Park Photo Freedom Vol. 1 (I know it's not valentines-themed, but I am digging Project Life currently!)

That's it for today. Gotta run for my weekly antenatal class for now. Thanks for looking! XoXo.

Mini I-Love-You Album

Valentine's day is around the corner and here is one of the mini album that I made for my not-so-grateful husband. 3 more days to Valentine's day and Ethan is already swamped with loads of Valentine's day related layout, albums, altered projects and cards. I am now struggling with space to keep those albums & altered projects. Please share with me on the ideas of storing those ever-bulky albums, layouts and projects.

Attended the workshop designed by Merdrey. View at your own risk, there are tonnes of pictures in this post.

Fall in love with the cover of the album! The heart-shaped stirrer is so super cute! And this valentine-themed album is super pink, me likey!

Title of the album: You Complete Me.
The rolled-up curtain is the awesomest thing in the album.

The sticker tag says: You Belong To Me

My favorite pictures of the album. Our wedding mascots @ a pretty church in TianJin, China.

It says: You are my....

...Miracle! =)

I love the sticker: Nuts Over You. Bought this sticker because one of my dog named NutNut. How silly is this...

The cute rub-ons say: I'm an A 'coz my arms stretch wide.

The cute rub-ons say: You're an F arms out heel to heel.

Last page of the album is one of the picture during our ROM. And I added a stickers on the right saying that this album belongs to Ethan.

The album was completed in merely 3 hours (during the workshop) but the part of adding photos and decorating with embellishment took me one whole night. I think I love this album more than the recipients! He only flipped through the album and say 'Oh, so cute! You are so talented!' and put the album aside. hahaha. Does this happen to you when you give some handmade cards / albums / gift to someone?

I am so glad that you actually made it to the end of this post. XoXo.
