Organizing my card / gift recipients using Happie Scrappie Stickers

Hello!
Can you believe it's only a week away til Christmas?!  Where has time gone?
I wanted to share a quick idea that I thought would be useful for those who are still scrambling to write your holiday cards and gifts.
I decided to use the super cute stickers that were in the November kit and use them as tabs for my notebook. I wanted an easy way to organize my list of card / gift recipients.
First, I made tabs utilizing all of the remaining pages in my notebook. These stickers were perfect length and super cute too! To create the tab, I just folded the sticker in half and stuck each end to each side of the page.
Once I had a good amount of tabs, I wrote in the alphabet.  If you’ve been watching my youtube videos, you know how much I love fine point pens.  I had to include this month’s pen in this photo as I have been really enjoying it!
I then, went through each tab and wrote down names and gift ideas for each person. These tabs came in so handy when I would think of someone out of the blue (this also applied to pen pals from Instagram and the online community).
This is how the tabs look like in my Traveler’s Notebook.  I’m loving the cute pastel colours and how it’s keeping me organized.  How do you organize your list of gift / card recipients?
I wanted to end this by sharing my heartfelt appreciation to every single one of you and to the wonderful members of the Happie Scrappie creative team.  This year has been such a huge learning experience for me. It has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and to tap into my creative side; something I wouldn’t have been able to do without the inspiration and encouragement from you! I wish you a very happy holiday season and an exciting and fulfilling 2016!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart xoxo Mits @mylifemits

Easy DIY Using Happie Scrappie Goodies

Hello, it’s Mits here to show you a quick and easy DIY using some of the items received in my kit last month.  But first, here is what my planner spread looks like this week.
I dissected a page from the monster theme fauxdori insert.  Since the holidays are soon approaching, I have to-dos up the wazoo (lol it rhymes), so I decided to use this super cute page that allowed me to write down my long list.  As always, I used the stickers from Happie Scrappie for the days.
Here is what my spread looks like.  Unfortunately, it is already almost full (>_<).
Thanks to an organized planner, I can keep everything in check.
If you enjoy watching Plan With Me type of videos, please feel free to watch one that I filmed a couple of weeks ago:
I wanted to share with you a quick DIY project using the super cute tags that were in last month’s kit.
It all starts with dusting off my laminating machine. I remember when I first got it, I had so many ideas.  Unfortunately, I haven’t been giving it much love lately.  This was a perfect opportunity to start using it for this super easy DIY project.

The first thing is to make sure all the holes are punched out.
I am using the laminate film that I got from Daiso. It includes 14 sheets of A4 laminate paper.
After cutting and punching the tags, you can put them in your planner as pretty decoration or even to add a bit of motivation to your daily life. You can also gift them to your friends.  I decided to take out some of the washi tape that I had and put these pretty tags to good use.  I think one of the issues with not using my washi is that I have a hard time co-ordinating the washi together.  I took some washi that worked well together and wrapped them around the tag.
And when you’re done with them, you can put them in your planners or organizers. I think the washi sample tags are a great gift for penpals and friends as well.
I currently house these washi tape tags in my super soft and cute watermelon pouch along with some other washi samples I received from my sweet friend. It’s perfect!
If you end up doing this super easy DIY project, don’t forget to tag me @mylifemits and Sam @happiescrappie.  Why not share the washi love with your friends all over the world :)
Until next time, I hope you are staying warm :) Much love, xoxo Mits

Fruity Listing in my Happie Planner Insert

I'm in complete love with the October happie planner kit. In Australia we are just starting summer so it's extra perfect for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere!
The happie planner fauxdori insert this month has tons of pages perfect for making lists!
I really love having this insert in my confettidori for those days and times when you need to make some serious lists to get your thoughts and plans organised!
I'm heading on a big trip to South Korea, so needless to say I have been making a lot of lists in preparation for this trip!
I especially love that with these inserts you don't need to do a lot of decorating! They are super cute as is!  All I've added here is a couple of stickers, a few bits of washi, and one of the awesome little tags from the kit!

One of my favourite things about this month's kit is the little packet of washi strips. Inside the packet is a little card that is perfect for wrapping washi tape samples around so you can take them with you on the go!  How nice is that?!

Hoping to see lots of fruity lists popping up all over the Internet! Till next time! 😘

EMBELLECE TU ESCRITORIO / BEAUTIFY YOUR DESKTOP

EMBELLECE TU ESCRITORIO

I hope everyone has received their monthly kit, because it is wonderful!
A few days ago it occurred to me what I could do with one of the dashboards of August kit (makeup theme) because I love the colors and wanted to have it in sight.

As most of the time I spend at home, I use the computer, I thought, a mouse pad! Nothing more simple, with a piece of cork, double sided tape, 10 minutes and the dashboard, and it was ready!. (Edit: Finally I had to make me another mouse pad with the September box)

I put the double sided tape on the dashboard, placed it over the cork and I cut with scissors surplus and it was done! I thought of laminating, but I like the brightness on the dashboard, so I decided to leave it.

This month I am very busy, it's been a nightmare! I decided to paint the house and I have all my stuff piled up everywhere, literally, I cannot wait to run out to replace everything or I'll go crazy. (Ok, I’m a Little crazy right now)
When I received the kit I could not believe how wonderful were all the goodies, and the box was lovely. Now I have many plans for them, but they are so beautiful that I want to save each kit in it, so we'll see!

I am falling in love with the fauxdori insert (who does not? OMG, it's so perfect!) I wanted to try markers, watercolors, pencils, etc ... So between painting and painting (at home), it has given me the idea to paint on the fauxdori insert ;)
The paper is perfect, it does not crease, and of course, no shadow on the other side of the pages, I am more than “happie” with it.

With inserts, stickers, bookmarks, charm, I have decorated my planners in the same style that I use and that is the one I like more <3

The calendar-note pad is so adorable, you can use it for so many things! To use as a event reminder and as a countdown of the days that I am looking forward to...

And you, what have you created with the kit this month? We'd love your ideas on Facebook group (Happie Scrappie)

Traveler's Notebook Weekly Setup using Happie Scrappie Planner Kit

Happy October Friends! It’s Mits and I’m here to share with you my monthly and weekly setup in my Traveler’s Notebook.   As I have been neglecting my missmicchan YouTube channel, I decided to film a video of an unboxing and me setting up my week on 2 page spread in my Filofax. You can check out the video here:
As for my Traveler’s Notebook , I continue to use the week on 1 page insert from Happie Scrappie because I love it so much! http://happiescrappie.bigcartel.com/product/inserts-ice-cream-popsicle-themed-grid-inserts-a5-travel-notebook-personal-sized
When I saw that the kit had an insert included, I was torn because I wanted to use both inserts. I’m not one to stuff my Traveler’s Notebook, so I did what some people might not like, I took apart the notebook *gasp*
I took out the page that I wanted to use and just glued it on top.  Now I can have the best of both notebooks for this week J

One thing I loved about this planner kit was the amount of stickers it had. I used the heading stickers in both my monthly and weekly spreads. I also like that there is a blank one so that you can customize it for your needs.
Here’s a snapshot of my weekly spread, so cute and colourful, yet so functional at the same time J  I used the dots and banner stickers as indicators and to decorate my weekly spread as well.  By the way, you can still purchase these from Happie Scrappie: http://happiescrappie.bigcartel.com/product/planner-stickers-doodled-hearts-round-dots-banner
…and because the holiday is soon approaching, I decided to participate in a no spend October.  This notepad is PERFECT for this! You can also track things that you need to do on a daily basis such as: IG challenges, inktober, hydration, exercise etc.
You can check out the video here:
I hope you’re all having an enjoyable October !
Much love, mits

Project Management ‘Monster Style’

Hi, it is Wan on the blog today, and I will be showing you how I used my fauxdori insert from the October Happiescrappie kit to help me manage my design/creative team projects.

I am not the most organised person in the world, so I find myself scrambling to meet deadlines simply because there are times when I would mix up the dates, etc. I know things have to change and I was trying to work out how I could design a layout to coordinate everything when my Happiescrappie fauxdori planner kit arrived. The moment I laid eyes on the pages of the fauxdori insert, I KNEW that it would be just perfect for my project management in terms of the work I do for the creative/design teams.

This fauxdori insert is slightly different from the other ones I have received so far in that the pages are not all the same, which makes it easy to keep things interesting. It also gives you an opportunity to get super creative with layouts - win-win! After looking through the different pages, I thought the pages would work well in groups of 2 and 3 for my purpose, so that was how I planned my layouts.

First up in the insert is the set of 2 pages that I have allocated to the month of October. As I needed three sections, I used washi tape to tape a journaling card from a previous month’s kit to one of the pages. I then stamped a heading using a picture icon and the word ‘ideas’ so that I have a place to use as a brain dump for the ideas I have for the month.

I then moved to the opposite page and labelled the little sweet post-it illustrations with stamps for the smaller projects I undertake as part of my creative/designer team work. As these are usually photos, I used a cute Instagram logo followed by a number because I usually have a target number I would like to hit (other than that required), and labelling them that way will keep me straight on where I am up to in that month.
Now that all the stamping for this set of pages had been done, I moved back to the page that I have attached the journaling card to and used stickers to demarcate the three bigger projects I usually have for the two teams before filling in the necessary information. With the due dates as well as the steps required to complete the tasks all written down, it would be so much easier for me to keep on top of things.
With that done, the layout for these 2 pages is complete and I can now easily track where I am in terms of all my creative/designer team projects for the month of October.
Next up is the layout I designed for the set of 3 pages for the month of November. As one of the pages has a blank space perfect for the brain dump, I did not use a journaling card as for the first set of pages, but just used the same stamps I used for the heading of the journaling card to label the space.
I then used stickers on the opposite page to mark out the three projects just like what I did for the first set of pages.
As for the third page, it has little squares that gives the page a similar feel to the page with the post-it illustrations, so I just went with the flow and used the page in exactly the same way as I have used the post-it illustrations. As you can see from the attached picture, I labelled the squares with the same stamps that I used for the post-it illustrations.
After stamping in the headings for the squares, this set of pages is now all ready to be used for my projects in November. As a side note, although I am currently using this insert for project management in terms of my creative/design team work, I think this kind of layout would work too, with some adaptation (like different headings), for any kind of project management (project life, gardening, paper crafting, etc).

And this is it from me for today. I hope that this post has given you some ideas on how you can use your fauxdori planner kit. Have fun and Happie planning!

~ Wan
