Hey girlie

Its been a while (like 6 months) since I have been blogging. One of my new year resolutions for 2016 is to blog a little more. So I think uploading these free printables on Valentine's day would be a great start! Oh well, at least I started blogging again in February ;)



I created these weekly planner printables in A4 and Letter sized, so you can just print them according to the paper size that is easily accessible to you.

I created these in 2 designs: Floral (A4 sized) and Hearts (Letter sized), and also make them available in English & Spanish version. Just because my planner bestie is a Spanish and I have plenty of Spanish Speaking customers!

I asked on Instagram if you girls wanted these in Sunday or Monday starts, and majority of you wanted a Monday starts, Me myself is a Monday-starts girl too! I know some of the girls start work on Sunday so would prefer a Sunday starts calendar, and I made them in this version too!

So now the Question is: Are you Team Floral or Team Hearts?

From Envelope to Planner Goodies

Hi Friends!  It’s Ruthie sharing with you some of the projects I’ve been working on with the HappieScrappie Planner Kit for October.  In today’s post, I decided to focus on different ways of using the cute packaging the kit comes in.  Sam recently changed the packaging and it now comes in an adorable envelope.  I wanted to create something with it as soon as I saw the adorable print! 

The first thing I did was cut the envelope open through the sides.  One of the easiest things to create was a dashboard.  All I did was cut one of the envelope flaps to size! The next step was to laminate and hole-punch.  Although the kit itself comes with an adorable dashboard, it’s always nice to have extra options.

This left me with one side of the envelope and the flap.  With the other flat side of the envelope, I created a pocket.  One can never have too many pockets in a planner either.  I simply trimmed it a bit, folded in half and cut open one of the slits from the top to make the “opening.”  (I hope this is making sense.)  If you would like a more detailed tutorial, let me know in the comments and I’ll take pictures of the process.  I used double stick crafting tape to stick the sides together, hole punched it and filled it up with adorable happiescrappie stickers!!  The envelope is made of really think cardstock so the pocket came out nice and sturdy. 

Another easy project to make with the scraps was a page marker.  I used one of the page markers from my Filofax as a pattern and simply traced it onto the watermelon paper. I did the same process as with the dashboard; laminated and hole punched it.  You can use stamps or sticky notes to further embellish it!

So I still had little bits and pieces of the envelope left and decided nothing would go to waste!!  I cut out two little watermelons and created a paper clip to match the whole set.  I used hot glue to adhere the paper to the paperclip and voila!  I then turned to my trusty Xyron sticker maker to make stickers out of some of the other watermelon cut-outs.  I’ll probably use the stickers throughout my layouts or in pocket letters. 

I had so much fun with this kit—and that was only using the cute envelope Sam created to ship our goodies in!!  I hope to share how I used the adorable stationery bits in the kit during the next blog post.  Feel free to share your comments and ideas on my Instagram page @threadofhearts!!  Until next time —Happie Planning!!

Planners | How To Make Your Own Watercolor Planner Stickers & Free Printables

Hello everyone! This is Sam here today to share how I use Shop Evalicious Stamp sets in my planner. I have been guilty as charged as I haven't been scrapping or making Project Life pages at all these few months. I only scrap some random 12x12 pages for assignments once in a while. I still have a bunch of scrapbooking supplies so one of my goal this year is to put them to good use - on my planner pages.

So one of my favourite way to use my scrapbooking supplies - ink and stamps is to make my own stickers. All you need to do is to stamp on white sticker papers (preferably matte sticker sheets which you can get from Amazon). 

I stamped on the sticker sheet using Versacolor and Versafine in black. I am not a fussy stamper - as in it would not bother me if I didn't get a perfect stamped image. 

If you would like to add water-colour or copic markers to colour the image after stamping, remember to use Memento Black (for copic markers) and Versafine Black (for water colour).

I love fussy cutting all the stamp image and keep them for future use. Sometimes I keep them in a flower shaped paint dish and place it on my work desk to avoid 'out of sight, out of mind'.

I haven;'t been doing Project Life pages at all - but documenting my daily life in my creative planner is one of the way to keep me going, using my scrapbooking supplies in a fun way too!

I was inspired by these Target Dollar Spot notepads and stationeries and decided to make some printable for my planners. If you are interested in getting these printables for your planner, since these Target Dollar Spot goodies are only available in US.

All you need to do is to print them on A4 or Letter sized paper (do not fit to print, choose 100% scale)

Planners | More Pockets for Your Planners

Hello there, today I am gonna show you how you can never have enough pockets in your planner(s).  You can read previous blog post by Florence on what she store in her pockets + an awesome tutorial by Candi on how to make pockets for your planner. I am gonna show you even more pockets, just because it never hurts to have some pockets to hold your bills/receipts, project life card, to-do list etc right? Firstly, I made some pockets using scrapbook papers using Candi's tutorial. I am using personal sized planner from Kate Spade and also Webster's Pages Color Crush (in Sky) so my pockets look much smaller than Candi's (as she is using an A5 equivalent Kikki K planner).

I just cut down a few pieces of scrapbook papers to the size of personal inserts. You would need scissors, paper trimmer, tape glue and hole punch for making pockets.

I am using the smaller pieces of scrapbook papers / vellum in the above picture to make the pockets. Even project life cards are perfect for that!

And this is how it looks like after i glue the smaller pieces on the dashboard. I added machine stitching just for fun and love the texture! Don't worry, stitching on paper with sewing machine is kinda easy and fun.

This is the front of my March dashboard (the printed version will be included in the March Happie Planner kit)  - i drew the Mason jar and fussy cut it myself and add a piece of vellum behind to use as pockets to hold some loose note papers.

Love these note papers from the Cocoa Daisy Day Planner - Feb kit. I am a sucker for everything with hearts.

You can also use the pockets to hold receipts / bills. But remember to take them out to file them else your planner gonna be bulky!

I am using a vellum envelope (trimmed down to fit the personal sized planner and punched holes) then it can use to hold some loose change for my 52 weeks money challenge.

I also use the pockets to hold some project life cards as i often use them as to-do list / writing quotes or to make the planner pages more colourful.

 

Here's the pocket that I made with project life card. I only stitch 2 side of the card to the dashboard so that it is easier to keep stickers or sticky notes in and out.

More ideas for pockets - most of your filofaxes / planners might come with zipper pouch / top loading pouch (which you can find here). But I love fun and colourful stuff so I use a normal zipper pouch / slim pen case, punch holes and use as zipper pouch in my planner. I even have matching colours for all my planners.

And some interesting finds: sticky pockets - The pockets are like post its notes which you can stick them on paper and they are removable. such fun accessories to the planners right? I hope you had fun reading my post about what you can use as pockets for your planners. Thanks for dropping by!

Planners | Planner Peace (Finally!) & My Daisy Day Planner Weekly Pages

Hello there! Today I have another planner-nerd post up on Cocoa Daisy blog today. Before this photo-heavy post, I am so proud to declare that I have finally reached planner peace! For most of the planner nerds, you would know reaching planner peace is a huge thing right? I know everyone has different definition of 'Planner Peace'. For me, I am still finding hard to resist buying new planners (sometimes its the design / colours that are so tempting or brands that I really love). My planner peace comes from the system and inserts I am using currently. I am currently using 3 planners - my fauxdori (Happiedori) that I have made myself, 2 ring binders (one is more on social medias & work, one is for daily + personal stuff).

I am going to show you one of the section that I have dedicated for Cocoa Daisy Weekly pages. I am currently using Cocoa Daisy Week-on-one-page and also week-on-two-pages inserts. Both for different functions. And at the same time, I am so inspired by the way Florence use her weekly inserts for inspiration quotes here. My weekly inserts from Daisy Day Planner kit are kept in this section called Hello ;)

And here's the pages for my January inserts - which I only use the week-on-2-page in January. I write / doodle a quote on the cover of each weekly page cover and the weekly 2 pages will be my daily events. Not so much for my to-do's (which I have another section for that) but its more for memory keeping - for me to refer back to what had happened to that particular day.

Then here comes my February pages that I can't wait to show you guys. I have started using the week-on-1-page again. I use it as a simple journal / record to record my pregnancy, what my toddler did and his interaction with my baby bump. He has not started talking yet so its more on things that he does each day, that warm my heart. This is so helpful especially when i want to do journalling of this on my art journal / scrapbooking pages.

I have also tried prepping future weekly pages - which I don't normally do previously. I am hoping this would save time on decorating + keep me motivated on writing on the pages, recording the daily events. This does take a whole lot of determination for someone who isn't consistent in daily journaling like me.
