I'm Still Smash*ing....

Hello hello! I know you probably have been waiting/drooling for updates on my Smash books?
*This pic of Junior watching me eating Bayberry is just so-cute-to-not-post!*

I am super duper excited today as my Smash book was featured on Smash Stories Blog! Please visit their blog to see how ppl around the world use their Smash books.

I have 'almost' finish using my Red smash and now I can't wait to start using my Black smash. Love love love all the pages! As you can see here.... anything (most probably Junks!) that you can't bear to throw them  away, just smash 'em down! What a great way to organize junks and scraps. The choc chip brownies that my mum-in-law brought back from UK was so awesome that I have to smash it down. I just received the new release Studio Calico stamps today and I just have to use them here.

Not a stamps collector but I have been collecting the stamps from 'happy mails' that I received lately.

And some updates to justify why I have not been scrapping / smashing / Facebook-ing recently:

We brought Junior to East Coast Park for swimming yesterday. I guess we were much more excited than him. Eventually he was too afraid of the waves and never get into the sea no matter how we lure him! But we definitely enjoy ourselves walking him @ East Coast Park! Maybe we can cycle with him in the park the next trip ;D

Wondering what can I do to help the shelter animals & stray dogs...

Betrayed Apple & switch from iPhone to Galaxy Note. And I am loving it <3

And I just have to post the pic of this Elmo x Hello Kitty.

Having McDee's every Thursday to collect the Hello Kitty. Not a big fans of Kitties but it's hard to not fall for Hamburglar kitty!

Shop Shop Shop till I drop... It's Great Singapore Sales now! Shoes, clothes, scrapbook supplies etc...

Okay! I admit I am a toilet-whore. Can't help to take pics when I see huge mirror! Did you notice my huge phone? My colleagues commented it looks like I am holding an iPad as a phone! And oh ya... I just <3 my new Aldo 5-inch heels! But I can barely walk with this gorgeous heels.

Pardon the wrinkly fingers >_<
I am in love with gelish mani-pedi recently! Super blue & shiny eh?

That's it for my long overdue post! Promise will come back with more Smash posts and hopefully scrap a layout or two. *hugs* =)

A Smashing Tutorial

Most of my scrapper friends know I love smash*ing and I have been spreading the Smash* virus to them. I bug them to Smash*,  show them the Smash* video from K&Co, lug my Smash book around to showcase as well. Call me crazy but i have been lugging my Smash book during my trips to Taiwan & back to Malaysia.

Some friends actually asked me normally how do I start smash*ing my pages....

I started by gathering my supplies:
Washi tapes (which is a must for every page),
photos & instax,
ink pads, date stamps, stamps
memorabilia (like brochure, coaster, tags , tickets etc),
adhesive ( i still prefer tape glue / dot glue than the glue pen that comes with the book),
Scissors,
pens (i always use Sakura aqua lip, Uniball and Zig Wink of Stella (love these glitter pens),
Paper trimmer (not shown here) and then...  a SMASH* book of course.

I organized my photos in stacks to for different pages. My Smash* book is now part of my Project Life.

Trying to arrange the photos... like how I started doing a 12x12 layout

Started by stamping the coaster from PS. Cafe & sticking it down with Washi tapes. I love this white pages as I can go wild with multicolor washi tapes. I decided to stick to blue-green-aqua color scheme for this 2-pages spread.

I always complete the page in less than 1 hour by just 'anyhow' sticking photos & memorabilia down and layer with washi tapes. Then I either stamp some sentiments or doodle my own feelings / journalling. Its pretty quick and easy eh?
Told you... I love using Zig Winks of Stella to add colors to my pages.

I also like to use UNI-Style Fit in Black & Brown to write on the washi tapes.

Smash pads & Stickies make journalling easier...

Once I have decided the placement of the photos, I will just stick them down.... without any hesitation. Polka Dots tapes are the new black!
....
.
Layer some washi tapes
.
Add my journaling
.
And ta-dah... I'm done!

A weekend brunch is smash*ed under an hours! Isn't that awesome?
Do you smash too? I would love to see your work! Leave your blog address in the comment column ya? ;)

Have a fun weekend!

Smash*ing Love

Smash*ing is good for me because:
1) I have very little time to scrap recently
2) Project Life looks very intimidating to me... (no offense to all Project Life fans! It's just that I am not that committed to do a weekly 2-pages spread. I still enjoy looking at others' Project Life very muchie.)
3) I like it being super RANDOM & versatile
4) I do not have to plan my pages or follow a sketch. Deciding on which embellies go well with my pages. I normally just anyhow, stick, stamp, write, doodle on my SMASH book.
5) I seem to enjoy my life more... by collecting (or rather stealing) the coaster, tissue paper, business card, flyers, brochure from the cafe / restaurant, taking more random + daily pics. I just love how Ethan + my family & friends help me in collecting memorabilia as they know I have been SMASH*ing.
5) I am simply addicted to the idea of SMASH*ing
6) Change my way of scrapping.... I can't add pop dots / bulky embellies. And I can't be bothered with lignin free / acid free anymore.

This page feature how I spend my weekends & the kitties who stay near my flat.
I didn't really like the page on the right, so I stamp the speech bubbles (using Paper Smooches He Said, She Said & Lawn Fawn Bannerific)

Nothing much on the left... just stick down some random MT tapes / washi tapes that I just bought recently. My collection of washi tape has expanded rapidly recently....
The right page featuring my day spent at KLCC with my new found Scrappy Friend- Cheryl, Ethan & my bestie L. Love love Instax!
Oh btw, please drop by Cheryl's blog too! She is the DT of a LSS in Kuala Lumpur & Pretty Little Studio.

Love the background of these pages...
I am a big fans of ice creams & chocolates. I have been cutting and smash*ing ice cream cup on my SMASH* book very often.

This pink girl stamp image is part of the gift from Cheryl. It's so cute that it definitely deserve a pic on its on. <3

One of my favorite page... Last piece of my Instax film was taken with my Doggie Rescuer friends. No more films for the cute puppy that I picked up (or rather stole) during the weekend. Thus I resorted to stamp the Polaroid frame (using Studio Calico Wonderful World Stamp) and draw a picture of Marcus the puppy. It turned out to be super cute, don't u agree?

Me collecting business card / tissue paper / cup sleeve.
Oh ya.. me loving the 'Made With Love' tag that I drew myself. Click here to view the original Made With Love (a LSS in Singapore) logo.

Another random 2-pages featuring my love for MT masking tape. How I like to use 'em and crazy ideas using MT. The pic on the left shows Me & Cheryl share our collection of MT/Washi tapes.

Loving my new babe Selphy. I got to print out pictures whenever I want to Smash*. I don't have to go through all the hassle of sending to a photo shop to print.

Awesome + random ideas.
My new toys (Canon Selphy, Instax & Fujifilm) are all in white! Love 'em all!

My fur friends on the left! I started falling in love with the kitties outside my flat and I really can't wait to have my own place here so that I could adopt a pet.
Colorful page on the right featuring my fetish for ice cream and frozen yoghurt.

Our trip to IKEA on 1st of May (Labour Day) to revamp my scrappy space. My collection of stash + supplies has expanded rapidly that things are all over the floor, couch, under the bed. So scary that I wanted new book case from IKEA so badly to organize my stash.

I love smashing so terribly that I currently have 5 SMASH* Folios (in Doodle Red, Eco Green, Retro Blue, Mod Black & Simple Orange) + all the accessories like stickies, date stamp, tapes, pads... I am very tempted to get the large pocket folio to use it as Guest book for my wedding reception in October.

Smash* books on one of my Expedit bookcase. Smash pads and other accessories on the cupcake tier...

These are part of my SMASH*ing accessories too.

If my SMASH post has not convinced you to be a SMASHer, please watch this cute video again. Love the cute background music & doodle poodle. *p/s: I am not the ambassador / DT for SMASH*. I just love the randomness and easiness of SMASHhing that I would love to share will all the scrapbookers.

If You Can't Scrap, you SMASH**

I have been away for 10 days for my Taiwan Trip early of April and that explained why I did not update my blog for two weeks. And work has seriously taking a toll on my scrap life. >_< I have not been making a layout / cards for almost 3 weeks. Not to mention I have yet to sort + edit the pictures of my Taiwan trip. SMASH comes in handy when I could not allocate much time for my scrapping and I <3 how easy when every page comes together. *fast & quick* Me likey for my work-7-days-a-week lifestyle.

Cover for my 1st SMASH book. Yes.... more to come as I have 2 more SMASH books of different themes. Using lots of Paper Smoocohes stamps here. The theme of this Red SMASH book is doodle.

First page is very intimidating. I just added a paper-pieced bee & stamp some sentiments using my Paper Smooches stamp set. I stamped this at the boarding lounge while waiting for my flight to Taipei.

Page featuring the few days before my trip and the disaster that happened before my flight. Yea... I misplaced my passport & missed my flight. All thanks to the Singapore Airlines & finally I made it to Taipei with just 3 1/2 hours delay.

Nothing much here.... pasting down the maps for Taipei Metro & our very first Instax! Yay! Thanks to Ethan who got me a Instax mini that I have been longing for.

Just writing down our 3rd day schedule.... We went for bridal shooting at various places in Taiwan. super tiring but fun fun fun! Can't wait to see the pictures of our shooting!

Junks that I collected throughout the photo shooting session. And yea, I bought some wash tapes too. Mc D's is a must try whenever we travel ;)

Taiwanese has a thing for stamping. I have seen many tourist traveling with a small note pad just to collect the stamps at the tourist centre / Metro stations / Train stations / tourist spots. So cute huh?

One of my favorite page here. Train tickets & instax taken on the train to HuaLien.

This page featuring our day trip to Taroko Gorge. The scenery of Taroko Gorge is simply breathtaking. Will post some pics of my trip in the latersss. Many many stamps that I collected throughout my Taroko trip.

Stamps and maps.

One of my favorite page again. What I have seen : many many black dogs in Taiwan.
And what I have eaten: Ding Tai Fung etc.

Last day of the trip. Boarding pass are very rare nowadays as some budget airlines in Malaysia just use A4-print pass. Clarification: we didn't take business class here... I just took the tag from the Singapore Airlines check-in counter and think it's fun to stick it down here.
And the blue-red-white striped envelope that I got from the hotel is so cute that I couldn't help sticking it down here.

My super favorite page here: Dedicated for the Taipei-Singapore flight, the haagen-dazs ice cream & in-flight movie that I watched. Doodle on the left page and the rabbit on the right page was carved by me. I attempted to carve a smily face for the rabbit but failed! So I just doodled the face for each stamped rabbit here.

*Live it up, Glue it down & SMASH it in*
I really love doing SMASH book now as I barely have time for scrapping a layout. Although I find that a Smash book is relatively expensive but the design & theme of the pages are so nice & well-corporated.

******
Just to share some of the pics I took during this trip. I carried 3 cameras (Instax Mini, Lumix GF1 & Fujifilm point-&-shoot) most of the time & tell me about how heavy the cameras are.

a very cool artist that draws/paints using spray paint. I m still wondering why he didn't wear a mask when he is using spray paints?

Breath taking from JiuFen.

Most of my friends know I am a animal-holic. I always take picture of the dogs/ cats that I met during my trip.

Taroko Gorge National Park 太魯閣國家公園. One of the must visit place when you go to Taiwan. Origin of the name for Taroko as quoted from Wikipedia: The name, Taroko, means "magnificent and beautiful" in Truku, the language of a local indigenous people group. Long ago a Truku tribesman saw the beauty of the azure Pacific when he walked out of the gorge. On seeing the magnificent scene, he cried "Taroko!". And so it became the name of the place, in a fashion not dissimilar to how the island, Formosa, got its name.
This picture was taken in Eternal Spring Shrine (長春祠)

Taroko Gorge. Lucky us that it was 'merely' drizzling when we were there.

One of the tunnel was closed due to bad weather and danger of rockfall.

The aboriginal lady was showing us their amazing weaving skill.

A pretty mutt @ Taroko Gorge. She is wearing a beutifully-weaved collar.

Our wedding mascot @ Seven Star Lake, HuaLien.

Love this movie - Babe. Was watching it twice during my flight back home. I think I can never get bored of this. Now that I want a piggie so badly >-<

Awesome blue sky on the way home..... Aw... I was dreading going back to work after our Taiwan trip.

That's all for this super long blog post. I guess I can only blog once a week nowadays if I ever get to scrap and take pictures. Thanks for reading ;) and have a awesome week ahead.
