Here's the close up of the card - I used the Prima Color Bloom spray to create a watercolor-effect background and stamp Bloom girl stamp on the paper. Didn't fussy cut or paint in details because I just how arty-fartsy it looks, and didn't want to take the focus away from the Bloom girl stamp.

Random⎪I Am A Prima Girl (again) + Rainbow In My Pencil Case

Hip hip Hooray! I am so thrilled to be picked as Prima Marketing Design Team for 2014-2015.

This is my second year on the team and I cannot wait to receive the new goodies and see what I could do with those amazing stuff. Last year has been a really good year, first time sending projects to CHA, scrapping 8 projects under 48 hours, receiving boxes and boxes of awesome products from Prima. And the girls on the team are so amazingly talented! I could only say, I am so honoured to be on the same team with these amazing girls + I am also so thrilled to be on the same team with some familiar faces - Kasia T. and Amelie Modret (who are on Citrus Twist Kits team as me for the past one year)!

Since this is a happy post (after having a bag day), I want to share some happy photos with you here. Do you remember I went to Japan for my long overdue honeymoon back in April? I kid you not, Japan is definitely heaven for stationery addicts like me. This is such a fun trip because:

❤ We went there without bringing baby Ivan along, so just two of us spending some US time

❤ Hubster is the most supportive husband ever, lugging tonnes and tonnes of stationeries and also non-stop visiting different book stores etc.

❤ Gotta give him a brownie point - he even helped me pick some washi tapes!

Just gotta love these pastel rainbow colour highlighter - which has a cute name: Zebra Mildliner. Instead of bright neon colours, it highlights the notes in cute pastel shades. 

I picked up quite a few MT tapes and also some random washi tapes from Daiso, 3 Coins and Sierra. I love love love their 100 yen shop and could spend hours and hours there looking at their affordable + cute stuffs.

The very first thing that I bought on the first night in Osaka, Japan are these cute Pilot Coleto pens. I am madly in love with them. The designs are uber cute - which you can pick and customise the number of pen refills, the colours that you want. The refills also come in mechanical pencil + eraser. Why are the Japs so smart and innovative? One of the rainbow colour barrel show here is from Muji. There are ball pens refills instead of gel pens like Coleto. I am a huge fans of anything gel pens, so all my money goes to buying different Coleto barrels and refills. LoL.

I also gotten the heart edition =) Couldn't decide if I should hoard or destash it? The inks are running out real quick because I use them on my planner all the time. I  like how fine the tips are, as I am using 0.4 here.

Then I also got addicted buying some Decorush and Mojiliner. I use them on my planner, decorating post cards and #happiemail. Some of the designs from Decorush Atelier is so cute that it looks like washi tapes. Just in case you have no idea what Decorush / Mojiliner is, they actually work like correction tape. Instead of rolling white tape on your paper, they roll out really really cute designs like panda, animals, disney character etc. You can get the main part (body) with refills or just the refills alone so that you can switch the refills when you want to.

It took me a while to get use to gliding them on the paper and sometimes I still do not get perfect image. It works better on smooth surface / paper. They are so cute nonetheless.

I am totally clueless with how to store them properly. so I just keep them in a hard pencil case from Smiggle.

It is not practical at all, but for the cute Matryoshka design, I will bear with it. LOL. 

And these are my Mojiliner in action. I write on my planner / paper first, then I roll the Mojiliner over like how I use highlighter. Its so cute that the handwriting is still visible and its highlighted with cute crayon / color pencil effect.

I finally used up some of the post cards that I got from Kyoto, Japan and written 10 postcards. I am not really into pen palling but I like how a simple post card will brighten up someone's day.

Pilot Frixion Erasable pens and markers anyone? One day, i will make a swatch of the different Frixion pens that I have, whenever I have time. Wont be too long, okay? They write a little sheer compare to other gel pens that I own but I also like that I could erase it if I have made any mistakes.

I hope this post have made your day by just looking at these rainbow colour stationeries. I always like to play with my pens and papers whenever I have had a bad day. Everything is awesome when there is rainbow.

Layout⎪I'd Pick You Too + Mini tutorial *Prima Marketing*

Last year, I made a layout of me and my mom for mother's day, which you can find more details here. 

It is inspired by my mum's hobby - sewing. I tried to make the layout in grid design and stitch most of the square and rectangular pieces down as you would when doing quilting.

This year, I scraplifted my own layout (which I hardly do that), and created an updated version two for my mom. The title goes: If Grandmas Were Flowers, I'd Pick you TOO! This layout used a cute photo of my boy and my mom playing with my mom's glasses, which one of Ivan's new hobby, snatched gramps' glasses and try to put it on himself. Such a lovely photo isn't it?

I have a sketch and ideas on head before I started making this layout, so I went ahead to pick my supplies from my Prima box. I picked a bunch of flowers (to use as part of the title) and a inch of goodies from Insta Scrap collection by Leeza Gibbons for Prima.

And here are some of the close-ups:
I made watercolor background to match with the  dreamy water-colour effect on InstaScrap collection. And for  the title 'If Grandma were Flowers', I used some gorgeous Prima flowers to substitute the title 'Flowers'.

And I have a simple tutorial to show you how I made the water-colour background using these awesome Prima Chalk Edgers (the one with blue casing, not the black one!)

And here's who it looks like with just two complimentary tone of Chalk ink:

P.S. The hearts and the elements are matte transparent stickers which looks like rub-ons, minus the trouble of transferring rub-ons to pages. It sort of resisting the chalk inks, so it is pretty cool!

On a side note, Mother's Day is on this weekend, my maternal grandma is really really ill in the hospital since last week. I really hope she could hang on there. It broke our hearts when she keeps saying I couldn't make it anymore and she is really showing signs of leaving really soon - i.e. she has superb memory since yesterday, she remembers all of us and keeps telling us things that happened ages ago! It happened to my paternal grandma before she passed away 6 months ago. I heard a lot of stories about when death is near, the person would have a quick flashback of his/her life, he/she would remember every little things that have had happened in his/her life. 

So lovelies, could you please pray for my grandma? I really hope that she could at least be with us this mother's day =)

For this year NSD blog hop, the DT girls are asked to make a simple 6x6 layout with some inspirational quotes. I love making mini layouts with inspirational quotes which I could hang it on my Inspiration wall or gift it to my girlies. And also, making one of these mini layouts would only take up about 15-30 minutes of my time. I pull out my supplies from InstaScrap collection by Leeza Gibbons and completed this under 15 minutes. Love the various sizes of the ATC cards in this collection and also the water-colour effect + calligraphy on the cards.

I made a layout with the quote 'Keep Going' which is very suitable for my current hectic schedule…. I just gotta breath in and out, and keep going =)

P.S: Just in case you are wondering, this pink vintage tappy of mine has really amazing cursive fonts! And no, I don't see myself destashing this in the long run, it is PINK, and it is in pretty cursive font! No way I could sell it!

Layout⎪Proud Moment *Made With Love*

Do you remember I posted some Prima Marketing Quick Dry Chalk Edgers (the teal one) and Resist Chalk Edger a while ago? I had so many of these and I decided to update the ink swatch chart. These chalk ink edgers are available at Made With Love Singapore.

And this place would be my Rainbow Heaven, if only I could bring home all these paints, enamel dots and mediums. Made With Love is gonna have a Medium Madness Day on 12th April, do remember to click here to check on the sign up details.

This is what I got from Made With Love this month, my DT kit and also me stocking up on adhesive crazily. And did I mention I have gotten a WeRMemoryKeepers tab punch too?

This week sketch inspiration layout is by yours truly. I was browsing Citrus Twist Kits blog for some sketch inspiration and fell in love with this. I love how the layering and weight is placed on the upper part of the layout and the bottom is just white space.

This is what I created after being inspired by the sketch:

I scrapped this photo of Ivan upon completing his one-year-old class at Shichida. He was holding his weekly homework folder proudly. I keep the layering super busy, with a lot of layers, chipboard, and also background with stencils.



I dated the layout with Pebbles Inc Roller Date Stamp and also heat embossed with Versamark & Ranger Embossing Powder in Orange.

Just gotta love these enamel dots and the flair badge from Pretty Little Studio.

Mini Album⎪Wedding *Write Click Scrapbook*

Hello there! The gallery for Write Click Scrapbook is up today and this month's theme is Mini Madness. As you know I am not good at making mini albums or mini books. I always need a little push to get started on making one - for instance, watching online video tutorials are the best inspiration and motivation ever. 

This mini album is so precious to be just because:

1. this is my one and only album that I made for our wedding. I mostly scrap about Mr. Ivan Siew nowadays.

2. Its a mixed media album inspired by my scrap idol - Celine Navarro's class for Two Peas - Mini Books Big Style. Good thing is I was so inspired to make more mini albums after watching the video. Sadly, I only made one ;P

3. This is my first attempt on doing something more mixed media. Glad that it is so easy and just a little messy to do. Yes, washing 12 stencils is the messiest part of all!

And here's my mini album. I keep it fairly simple with only using resin, flowers and crystals from Prima Marketing Inc as embellishment. And this is the cover of my mini album - sized 4' x 6'. I paint the background of the chipboard cover with thick layer of white gesso then mist some Mister Huey + water. Place it vertically so that the paint would drib. Then add flowers and sequins to call it done. Once the cover is done, the inside pages are even easier than I thought.

I printed about 12 B&W photos in 4' x 6'. And the rule of this mini book is one page with photo (without embellishment) and the page next to it would have a lot of textures using moulding paste and stencils from Prima Marketing Inc. I keep the embellishment pretty simple but flowers are bulky. So this mini book turned out to be a Dictionary. LOL

The process for making the textured pages are pretty simple:
1) Spread molding paste over the stencils and wait for an hour or two for drying completely.
2) Wash your stencils asap! else its hard when the paste dry up and you need to scrub a little to get the paste off your stencils.
3) Mist each textured page with Heidi Swapp Color Shine. I keep the colour scheme to pink blue and a little yellow since thats the colour theme for my wedding banquet. Then wipe the page with baby wipes to keep the colour lighter and also wipe away the mist on the molding paste part. You gotta do it right after you have misted else the mist would stay on the molding paste part.
4) Once I am done with all the misting then I add flowers, alphabet stickers and crystals.
Easy Peasy right?
