Blog Hop | Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane

Hello all! Today Elle's studio and the DT girls have a fun inspiration blog to showcase the new collections : Sycamore Lane and Good Cheer. I am loving the geometric patterns in Sycamore lane so I decided to use this collection in one of my favourite photo + layout here.

I like the tribe; / geometric pattern of this pattern paper so I want to use it to make a bold background. I cut the pattern paper into 4 triangles and piece them onto a piece of white card stock. Then I place the photo in the centre of the layout to make it pop.

Loving how the Bits and Pieces matched with the pattern papers from the collection so well.

Mini Album | Thankful For *Elle's Studio'

It's been a while since I have made any mini album. I am loving this piece of Grey-Orange triangle patterned paper from the new Elle's Studio Sycamore collection. So I decided to use it to make the cover for my Thankful Journal. I believe everyday we should be focusing on happy moment and there are little things that we are thankful for.

I keep this mini album fairly simple. I cut papers into various sizes and fold them into half, bind them with pamphlet stitching. I then added some of the recent photos that I really love and some journalling tags. I leave the journaling spots blank and will fill up with my journalling before my bedtime.

The camera die-cut in cork sheet is just too cute. There are pages that have no photos at all so I could just journal to my heart.

This is such a precious photo of my toddler - I took this photo of him during his first day to pre-Montessori. I absolutely adore the way he sat there and observe his classmates during snack time.

Another photo of us went to Kinokuniya - a Japanese bookstore near our home. I love his outfit of the day and also he looked so tiny in between the book shelves.

I have a section of my daily planner to jot down notes that I am thankful for - and will transfer to the mini album when I have time to journal. Do you make any thankful album this year? I am thinking to make more thankful journal because I really want to remember and cherish every little moment. Time simply passed by too fast daily and we tend to forget about the little moments / things that we should cherish in our heart.

I hardly scrapped recently because life gets really crazy since September. But when I do have some me-time, i enjoy sitting in front of my desk to play with papers and scissors. Here are the two layouts that I made using Elle' Studio Sycamore Lane and the October kit.

I love the journaling card that said TOGETHER - the best place to be and decided to use it as the title of this page. I am loving that tribal print and geometric design (like Triangle) is back in this Fall. So I cut apart the triangle patterned paper and use it as the main embellishment of my layout. I also added a little house cork stickers on the journaling card to draw your eyes to the title.

And here's another layout that is inspired by the Fall colours - purple / orange/ yellow. Not so much of a purple and orange person but I am loving this layout turned out.

I created my background with some Faber Castell Gelato and added the coordinated colour tag from Sycamore Lane. A little bit of journaling and embellishment to add some finishing touches to the page. I am glad how this colour combination actually grow on me ;)

I have another THANKFUL mini book that I created under an hour that I am gonna show you guys in the next blog post. Thanks for dropping by and do remember to check out Elle's Studio site for the lovely goodies.

Layouts | Special Request From The Hubs *Elle's Studio*

As I was browsing my photo gallery on my phone while missing our little one in KL (as we were on a business trip in Shanghai), I show hubs a pic of him and Ivan in Singapore Zoo. Isn't this photo the cutest that would worth a a million dollar when Ivan grow up in the future?

The hubs was asking why didn't I scrap this photo into a 12x12 layout? Hahahah… That i just because I haven't been scrapping much lately + didn't keep up with scrapping my recent photos.

I want the photo and the title to be the main focal point of the layout, So I didn't add much embellishments to the page. I just like the page as it is. Repeating the title 3 times using Elle's Studio Letter & Number stickers and adding a few tags from the September kit. Still loving how the layout and photo go so well with all the minimal embellies.

Repeatinf the title 3 times using  3 different colours of Elle's Studio Letter & Number stickers, on a piece of ruffle paper by American Crafts.

Sprinkle some sequins and added a few paint splatter. Ta-dah. A simple layout that would melt my heart every time I look at it. Thanks for looking. Do remember to check out the Elle's Studio DT gallery for more awesome inspiration.

Layouts | Pastel Colors + A Lot of White Space *Elle's Studio*

Before I started to whine about how I feel recently, I would like tp show you Elle's Studio September kit. I am in love with this month kits - that has bright colours and also a couple of cute tags that I used all  of them in my 3 layouts.

They also come with 4 coordinating add-ons:

Remember to grab yours here.

I haven't been scrapping much lately just because again, I am kind of losing mojo and also feeling a tad too overwhelmed. I have this super overwhelming feeling ever since end of July. My scrap room is in a huge mess, boxes, goodies, planners, supplies are all over the floor, my desk and even stacking up on top of my printer. And also the bed in my scrap room. Whenever my room is very occupied with stuffs & messy, I don't feel creative at all. The messier it is, the more overwhelmed I would feel.

I did spend 2 days cleaning up my room, purging supplies (from papers, tools to yarns etc) and also trying to complete a few pages here and there, packing September kit. So my room was clean for a minute and the next second it turned into a warzone once I started working on the kits / shop items. I am just hoping I feel more positive and energetic soon.

Since I am craving for space, a lot of space for my room, I made three layouts for Elle's Studio with a lot of white space. I know making pages with white background isn't something new for me, but making such white (or empty layout) without framing the borders is something uncommon for my scrapping style.

So here you go, three of my layouts which are also my current faves from using Elle's Studio September Kit & goodies. It seems that I just can't move away from creating pastel pages, because I work better with my favourite colour scheme.

When I am done layering with the tags and goodies from the kit, I feel that the layout is too flat for my liking as I didn't add any foam dots or mixed mediums. So I found a  pack of paper straws and cut them into bits and add them to my page. Love how cute it turned out!

And this layout, I actually want to make a page with a lot of squares as repeated elements, It didn't turn out as what I have expected but the cute photos of Ivan says it all. He choose the cap himself at H&M and thats the only cap that he likes & he would wear. How time flies and he already has his own preference for outfit!

I would have one more layout to share with you tomorrow. I hope I didn't babble too much in this post as I am baby wearing Ivan (as he is sick) and type with only ONE hand,

Thanks for looking. Do remember to fro by Elle's Studio DT gallery fore inspirations. =)

Layout | Love Me A Grid Layout *Elle's Studio*

There's no secret that I am a huge fans of grid layout! I love making grid layouts because:
1) the layout looks organised (I know this is weird but I am attracted to grid designs)
2) I can go crazy embellishing each tiny box
3) I like how each tiny box is unique yet they complement each other (by using all the papers from the same collection)

I created this grid layout using a piece of paper from Elle's Studio Shine collection that has cute tiny squares. I placed sac of the square accordingly and stick them down lightly. Then I add 'invisible line' with my beloved sewing machine. I love how the machine stitching is subtle yet add an interesting effect to the page. Once I am happy with all the arrangement of the tiny cards, I add wood pieces, die cuts, journalling tags and journalling to each box.

Close-ups of each square:

This photo is we 'welfie' of me and Ivan. Sigh, where has the time gone and he has already refused to take photo with me! Can someone find the STOP button so that he will always be my little baby that listens to me and be a mama's boy?

I am sure I am gonna make more grid layouts in the future using the same recipe. I hope this inspires you! Thanks for stopping by and remember to check out the Elle's Studio Design team gallery this month!
