Planners | Confession of A Stationery Addict (Pilot Frixion)

It is no secret that I am a planner-addict + Stationery-holic as I have been addicted to buying pens and stationeries since young. I admit that I do have a variety of pens and love trying new pens. One of my favourite pens / brands that I use daily is Pilot Frixion - which has a wide range of pens, markers, highlighter, color pencils and stamps that have erasable ink (ink that can be removed with friction - and thus the name Frixion). Today I am showing you some of my writing supplies that I often use in my planners - and most of these are Pilot Frixion. Pilot Frixion (most of the colors) erase clean and without any residue (unlike how you erase the pencil writings with normal erasers).

I am loving the pink and green combination in this month kit - it has subtle festive colors. I also love the My Mind's Eye Jubilee sticky notes (with Calendar) which is so versatile and useful for day-to-day planning.

When I am writing on my planner pages, I often reach for my Pilot Frixion point 0.4mm or 0.5mm. I don't like the 0.38mm as they are too fine and scratchy for my likings. I have a set of Tokyo Disney edition Pilot Frixion in 0.4mm that I bought it while I was in Tokyo this year. I like that these Frixion pens are refillable so I can always keep these cute Mickey pen casing even when the original ink runs out. These Frixion Point 0.4mm write ultra smooth but I do notice that being erasable ink means the black ink isn't as dark & as opaque as usual blank pens. And i didn't like how the eraser is placed on the end of the pen since i always place my cap on the end when i am writing i.e. I need to remove the cap then i want to erase the words.

I also love using Pilot Highlighters (in pastel color), pilot stamps (gift from my Japanese friend) and Gel Stick highlighter to highlight important dates on my monthly calendar.

I stick the monthly calendar sticky notes on my page marker to gently remind me of the important dates. I write the dates with Pilot Frixion Colors (more like markers) and stamp some of the dates with Frixion Stamps.

Since the ink is erasable, I can easily erased some of the dates and stamp it with Frixion stamps. I also love that the Frixion colors come in 24 colors (although I only have 20 colors). And one of the favourite feature of Frixion pens is that they hardly bleed since the ink isn't as opaque as usual inks.

Here's a simple color swatch the i made using some of the Pens that include in the previous Daisy Day Planner kit (say Poppin, Micro Pigma - I am using Black here, and Sakura pens). I have also included some Pilot Frixion pens & markers & the gel stick highlighter that I often use.

Stationery⎪Reviews for Decorush Mojiliner

Hello hello stationery addicts! I know I haven't been writing any pen or stationery reviews for weeks (or maybe for months!) I have so many ideas for blog post and Youtube but I just couldn't get my ass off and start working on them. I am the biggest, fattest procrastinator in the universe, i know. LOL

Hubs forced me to drink some alcohol as he claimed this could help me sleep better. Nonsense! I was rolling on the bed for 2 hours and my face and back got so itchy. Since I couldn't sleep so I decided to churn out this blog post. I couldn't understand what's the craze all over Decorush or decorative tape when my friend Trisha show me. To me, they are just pretty / decorated correction tape. *correct me if I am wrong!* Then when I went to Tokyo in April this year and got my hands on some of the cute designs, I am totally sold! 

So.... here's my humble collection of Decorush, Mojiliners and Decorative tapes. You can get some of these here. 

Okay, I don't have a lot but I do use them on my planners every now and then. Decorush by PLUS or decorative are basically like a correction tape that you can roll on paper. Instead of the typical white correction tape, you get cute and fun design like hippo, hedgehogs, macarons etc (from desserts to balloon, animals to flowers, you name it!) p.s. The design of the tape are printed on the plastic casing so that you could find them easily. 

Then I found out about these Mojiliners! The name seriously reminds me of Mojito, don't ask me why ;P Instead of cute animals / food designs, Mojiliner has really fun crayon doodle in 10 different color. I made & name the color chart below myself. Some of the name according to their official website is more 'classy' like Green/Aqua is called Emerald green, Yellow/Green is called Lime Green.

And yes, I collect all 10 colors. The OCD / collect-them-all in me just have to buy all 10 colors. They are perfect for color-coding, why not? (hahahahah I don't even do color-coding!)

Just in case you are wondering, the Mojiliner and Decorush casing are inter-changeable. So thats a plus point! And these are the 10 fun colors that they have - form pink to blue to purple to yellow and orange. 

The normal Decorush are meant for decoration (thus the name decorative tape). But Mojiliner is more functional, it is designed to use as highlighter. I wrote the work Decorush Mojiliner (pic below) with a black gel pen and then roll my Mojiliner over it. The tape is so thin that the words still show through very clearly. Yay to cute highlighter!

Mojiliner is marketed slightly more expensive than the usual Decorush. And the refills for Mojiliner comes with a plastic protective cap (as pictured below). The usual Decorush refills has no plastic cap so you would need to purchase them in pack of three if you want to. But don't have caps for the refills also won't die lah if you keep them in a pencil case or pouch nicely.

The Decorush or Mojiliner are retractable. All you need is to press it and glide/roll it on a piece of paper. I just did my manicure a week ago so I just have to post this pic of me holding the Mojiliner. 

Since Decorush and Mojiliner share the same plastic casing (I don't know the formal term), you can just get a few Decorush with the casing and buy the rest of the refills. That could probably help save you some money and a little bit of space. Changing the refills are super easy and would not take up more than 5 seconds.

When you want to change the refills, all you need to do is to press the end of the Mojiliner and keep the tape in. Then press the '2 buttons' on both sides then it will come off  like the picture show below.

I love Mojiliner because you can either use it as highlighter or just as decorative border. In my opinion, I prefer Mojiliner over the usual Decorush because its a little more versatile. However, like the usual Decorush, it takes a little practice to glide the tape smoothly / perfectly on your pages. You gotta make sure you glide it on smooth and flat surface, else it would look broken (like the Hippo) / crumpled together (like the Red color below). 

This happened when I was too lazy and just rolled the tape directly onto the paper (without taking the papers out from my planner). After rolling a few time unsuccessfully, the tip is,  use them on flat and smooth surface, and stack a few pieces of paper to cushion it and do not press toooooooo hard when you roll. Do share your tips on getting perfect Decorush tape rolled with me! ;)

Stationery⎪Reviews for Zebra Brush Pen

Recently I have gotten a Kuretake Zig Wink of Stella glitter brush pen (in gold of course!) from my local scrapbook store Made With Love, Singapore. And I also met a scrapbook friend Teresa who was looking for brush pens to do some creative lettering . brush lettering for gift bags. So while I was looking for those Japanese brush pens and I came across this Zebra brush pen and fell in love with it. I love it so much and thought I should share a simple pen review here.

Do you still remember I have found a new purpose for my Mint & Gold Kikki K planner? Yes I am gonna keep my pen swatch in it and I even bring it with me when I go for stationery shopping. 

Features:

- Hard brush tip

- Fine nib

- Water-based dye ink

What I like about this Zebra Brush Pen:

❤ It is relatively cheap (or affordable I would say)

❤ I like that the brush is tiny (and relatively shorter) and thats why they call it the hard brush which is very similar to the feel of using a felt tip pen. It is easy control the brush while I write

❤ hard brush makes creating thin and thick lines super easy. For someone who hates her/his own handwriting like me, I actually think my brush lettering looks pretty good here. LoL

❤ Extremely smooth and the brush doesn't seem to split even if I do really quick writing

❤ Doesn't bleed through my planner pages (that's a bonus when I do creative lettering or brush lettering on my planner pages!)

What I don't like about this pen:

- There isn't much that I don't like about using, yet. I love it so much that I have been writing non-stop on circle label sticker to make thank you label for my shop. It is such a fun way to destress after taking care of a cranky toddler for two days. Ivan has been really cranky + feverish  after his vaccination 2 days ago. Now that he is sleeping so I just couldn't help myself writing with this brush for hours and decided to do a pen review immediately!

I actually prefer using this brush for brush lettering compared to Zig Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush because the Wink Of Stella brush is longer & softer and make controlling the brush a tad harder for someone who just started brush lettering.

And I told ya, I couldn't stop writing and writing with this brush pen. And I need up with so many Thank You label stickers. Random⎪I Am A Prima Girl (again) + Rainbow In My Pencil Case

Hip hip Hooray! I am so thrilled to be picked as Prima Marketing Design Team for 2014-2015.

This is my second year on the team and I cannot wait to receive the new goodies and see what I could do with those amazing stuff. Last year has been a really good year, first time sending projects to CHA, scrapping 8 projects under 48 hours, receiving boxes and boxes of awesome products from Prima. And the girls on the team are so amazingly talented! I could only say, I am so honoured to be on the same team with these amazing girls + I am also so thrilled to be on the same team with some familiar faces - Kasia T. and Amelie Modret (who are on Citrus Twist Kits team as me for the past one year)!

Since this is a happy post (after having a bag day), I want to share some happy photos with you here. Do you remember I went to Japan for my long overdue honeymoon back in April? I kid you not, Japan is definitely heaven for stationery addicts like me. This is such a fun trip because:

❤ We went there without bringing baby Ivan along, so just two of us spending some US time

❤ Hubster is the most supportive husband ever, lugging tonnes and tonnes of stationeries and also non-stop visiting different book stores etc.

❤ Gotta give him a brownie point - he even helped me pick some washi tapes!

Just gotta love these pastel rainbow colour highlighter - which has a cute name: Zebra Mildliner. Instead of bright neon colours, it highlights the notes in cute pastel shades. 

I picked up quite a few MT tapes and also some random washi tapes from Daiso, 3 Coins and Sierra. I love love love their 100 yen shop and could spend hours and hours there looking at their affordable + cute stuffs.

The very first thing that I bought on the first night in Osaka, Japan are these cute Pilot Coleto pens. I am madly in love with them. The designs are uber cute - which you can pick and customise the number of pen refills, the colours that you want. The refills also come in mechanical pencil + eraser. Why are the Japs so smart and innovative? One of the rainbow colour barrel show here is from Muji. There are ball pens refills instead of gel pens like Coleto. I am a huge fans of anything gel pens, so all my money goes to buying different Coleto barrels and refills. LoL.

I also gotten the heart edition =) Couldn't decide if I should hoard or destash it? The inks are running out real quick because I use them on my planner all the time. I  like how fine the tips are, as I am using 0.4 here.

Then I also got addicted buying some Decorush and Mojiliner. I use them on my planner, decorating post cards and #happiemail. Some of the designs from Decorush Atelier is so cute that it looks like washi tapes. Just in case you have no idea what Decorush / Mojiliner is, they actually work like correction tape. Instead of rolling white tape on your paper, they roll out really really cute designs like panda, animals, disney character etc. You can get the main part (body) with refills or just the refills alone so that you can switch the refills when you want to.

It took me a while to get use to gliding them on the paper and sometimes I still do not get perfect image. It works better on smooth surface / paper. They are so cute nonetheless.

I am totally clueless with how to store them properly. so I just keep them in a hard pencil case from Smiggle.

It is not practical at all, but for the cute Matryoshka design, I will bear with it. LOL. 

And these are my Mojiliner in action. I write on my planner / paper first, then I roll the Mojiliner over like how I use highlighter. Its so cute that the handwriting is still visible and its highlighted with cute crayon / color pencil effect.

I finally used up some of the post cards that I got from Kyoto, Japan and written 10 postcards. I am not really into pen palling but I like how a simple post card will brighten up someone's day.

Pilot Frixion Erasable pens and markers anyone? One day, i will make a swatch of the different Frixion pens that I have, whenever I have time. Wont be too long, okay? They write a little sheer compare to other gel pens that I own but I also like that I could erase it if I have made any mistakes.

I hope this post have made your day by just looking at these rainbow colour stationeries. I always like to play with my pens and papers whenever I have had a bad day. Everything is awesome when there is rainbow.

Randoms⎪Currently Obsessed With...

I just realised my blog is pretty dead, which I only post scrapbooking projects, Project Life pages and some random tutorials, if I ever made one. Instagram is killing my blog as Instagramming is way easier to post and get likes + comments than blogging. That pretty much conclude why I got addicted since January 2013. 

So now, my 'new month resolution' is:

1. To blog more, even if its shorter blog post

2. To come up with more tutorials / crochet patterns (if I could find time)

3. To make videos, hopefully I could practice to speak while I am recording. I am just too embarrassed with my accent. 

So this blog post pretty much summarises my current obsession about crochet, stationeries and also planner! I have never blogged anything about my pens, my washi tapes and my planners here. I am hoping to blog more about my planner set up and decorations, although I am nvery very new in this planner world! I have been watching a lot of videos on youtube to brush upend pick up new things, trying to see what works and don't work for me ;)

Happiest picture on my Instagram feed, ever ;) Blue or Pink? I am currently obsessed with the pink  Kate Spade planner though. I got it from eBay, which Beth (my IG friend) helped me search for it. I am just not good with ebay!

Nothing beats a smiley toddler right? He was grinning ear to ear last night when he successfully wear the finger puppet on his finger. 

I love printing my own stickers using Silhouette Print and Cut function. You can find more tutorials here and here. 

Also obsessed with crocheting Instagram-inspired pouch for keeping my Fujifilm Instax SHARE from scratch free. If you are interested, I have listed them on my Big Cartel.

After two days of cleaning and purging, I finally have a clean desk, and most importantly clean floor! Boxes and piles and piles of supplies were piling up on the floor that my husband saids that it looked like a war zone. That was so embarrassing! 

When I have a clean desk, I would just keep posting photos and photos of my clutter free workspace on Instagram. So sorry if I've flooded your IG feed, I just couldn't help it! Also, I just started using my Smiggle notebook (in a cute apple shaped) as my everyday To-Do list, it just makes more sense to me than writing my to do list down on my planner. I am just lazy to open my planner and keep it on my desk all the time. 

And I have this little boy who has just started to walk with support. Pushing carts and chairs is his favourite activity nowadays. Or he would hold our fingers and keep walking and walking around the house.

Currently also obsessed with setting up my camera to take videos for scrapbooking and crochet. Still tweaking and see what works best for me. Here, using a bulky, expensive Manfrotto tripod that I borrow from my brother. I couldn't spread the 3 legs wide on the table because my desk has this little shelf that blocks its way.

Then I found this huge yellow clip that is meant for holding iPhone in a gadget shop. It looks like a fishing rod here lol! Trying to see if it works and I will keep you updated! Hoping that it works so I don't have the tripod legs on my way when I am scrapping. 

P.s. the little basket on the bottom left corner is where I keep my planners and notebooks that I am currently using, with a Orla Kiely for Target travel pouch that Beth got for me, to hold all (or most) of the stickers and post its that I always use.

Promise, I am gonna post this easy-peast crochet amigrumi pattern up, real soon.

Trying out color-coding for my Kate Spade planner. It just doesn't work for me, guess I am using too many colours or some said, it takes a white to get used to the colour codes. Since I am using this system, I have been forever looking for matching pens and washi tapes when I am planning my weeks. Not too efficient for me!

My first time joining a CAL (Crochet Along) by the amazingly talented Poppy & Bliss and My Poppet. It was fun but I am stuck at the second post of the CAL.

Someone tagged me on Facebook after she read an article about #stationeryaddict. And here I am, staring at the neon index label. which I am also currently obsessed with. P.S. I didn't buy those pens in this photo, I got them from my previous house owner. I found them in the drawer when I move this new house.

And COLETO! I currently have 4 barrels of Pilot Coleto loaded, and have 3 extra brand new sets. Was asking for hubby's opinion if I should sell the extra sets, because i simply cannot use all of them! I have a very loving husband who suggests I should keep all these for myself and maybe he was thinking I would be just content with these pens and no more buying pens in the future. I afraid not! Lol

And two is always better than one ;) Or maybe I need a third one?

In love with the tiny 2x2 pockets that I used for my May 2014 Project Life page. Just in case you are wondering, these aren't conventional PL sleeve, they are coin protector that I got from Amazon. I collage four square photos and print them on a 4x6. Each photo printed slightly smaller than 2x2 which is just perfect for me!

These are the Pilot Juice and Pilot Frixion that I got from Japan. Now I am trying to see where I could get them at reasonable price because I need more pens (in a set if possible) hehehe

Roller stamps. with date or without dates are all my fave! And I also have room for more stamps. I got this spinner rack from my in-law's office, you can also get them from old school stationery shop.
