Happie Planning/Tracking Exercise And Meals

Hello, everyone! It is Wan (aka wansplansandexplorations on IG) back again. In today’s post, I am going to show you how I use July’s fauxdori planner kit to plan/track my exercise and meals (as well as some household shopping).

As I have mentioned in my last post, I am gearing up for a house move. I know, from previous experience, that I tend to neglect my health when I am busy. Hence, I decided to start an insert to keep track of and plan my exercise as well as my meals. This month’s fauxdori insert in the planner kit was perfect because it was blank, which meant that I could customise it completely to suit my needs.

First, I laid down stickers included in the kit to mark the seven days of the week.  I wanted to keep the entire week on one page, so I divided the page into two with thin washi and laid the stickers such that Monday to Saturday were in one column, and Sunday was in the second column, next to Saturday. I chose this layout as I did not need as much space on the weekends. This is because I don’t usually engage in any specific exercise during the weekends (being family time and all), so I just needed space to track/plan my meals and my Fitbit steps.

Once the stickers were laid down, I stamped in the days of the week using the set “Brush Dates” from Studiol2e.

Now that I have divided the page into various days, it was time to start stamping in what I have planned for and/or wanted to track each day. I started by stamping in “lunch” and “dinner” in the second column (both words are from “Plan to Eat” from Sweet Stamp Shop). I did not include “breakfast” because breakfast is essentially a green smoothie every day, and with it being unchanging, I didn’t think it was worth tracking or planning for.

I then moved to the first column and used stamps from Plan Fitness (Sweet Stamp Shop) to stamp in the exercise I have planned for the day, as well as a sneaker shoe to track my Fitbit steps.

Once that was done, this page was complete. This is really all I want to plan for/track in terms of exercise and meals for the week, as I usually do the rest of my meal planning in my Paprika App on my iPhone. Based on the meals I have planned for the week, I use the app to compile a list of groceries I need to buy, so I don’t usually write those down. However, I have found that as I go through the week, I would find bits and pieces that I would need around the house, so I decided to use the opposite page as a landing page for these odds and ends that, usually, would not end up on the list in my app (items such as toilet paper and toothpaste, i.e. essentially anything that is not food related). I stamped a grocery cart and the words “Don’t forget” (both from the set “Daily Kawaii” from Mommylhey) on a notepad page from a previous month’s planner kit and then taped the page down with washi tape on the opposite page.

This system works for me as I always double check what meals I have planned before leaving for the grocery store to make sure that the grocery list in my app is correct and complete. If there is anything on the notepad, I just grab it too, and take it along.

This is it from me for today. As you can see from this last picture, the two pages I have customised allow me to easily plan/track my exercise and meals (and coordinate the shopping while I am at it!).

I hope this has given you some ideas on what you can do with your Happiescrappie planner kit. Please do tag us when you post your ideas on IG as we would love to have a peek. And finally, happie planning!

Love from Spain

Buenos días a to@s!

Good morning to all!
Here Maria, I am Spanish, and I live in Madrid, if you follow me on instagram (@mariacgbc), you will know that I love beautiful things and especially Sam’s creations, along with the stamps!
I am delighted to share a bit of my creative processes, to inspire you, or to give you ideas for your planners.

Right now I am using various planners, in different sizes, but for different purposes too!

In Spain it is not very common to have many planner supplies, and I have very little of those compared to what we have seen over the internet!
For daily usage, I picked a personal size planner due to the size which makes it convenience to bring it everywhere! In addition to the tasks I have to do (that I write in my planner), I use it as a reminder of what I have done (journaling), and then do my project life, but I do not keep myself up to date with it ... It just happen to me I guess?

For on the desk planner, I use an A5 planner. And for drawing, creating some mix media, and testing purposes, I use my happiedori, which BTW, I love it so much!

Before doing anything, usually I will look at my planners supplies that I will "play with" for that day.

This week I decided to stamp these banners stamps to mark the days (in the colors of the rainbow, of course!) I have listed the things that I have to do this week (at home and at work) and I used stickers to decorate the inserts. I added more stickers until the end of the week ....

(I decided to use A5 inserts from May planner kit "hot air balloons theme")

And on the right side of the planner, I listed down things that I have to do, labeled them with the stickers that come in the kit, but no specific day for them, (this is to ensure I do not forget about the lists) (This idea is inspired by Wan @wansplansandexplorations) and I put more stickers to decorate, because I love them! I also added the shopping list, so when I need to go shopping, all I have to do is just peel it off. This is just making sure that I will not miss anything.

A mi me encanta!

As you can see, I also like to decorate with stamps and drawings, and Sam’s papers are PERFECT! Do you like stamping? I love it! Unfortunately, the planners that I have had so far prevented me from doing as much as I wanted to do as the back of the stamped pages always showed little shadowing .... Now I'm free to do it any way I want, oh yeah!

For the planner that I always carry with me, I decorated it before I start using it, I think it is because if I see it's not pretty, I do not feel like using it.

(semana decorada)

(decorated week layout)

(every week I put a card or a notepad (the notepad that comes in the kit) to add more fun during the week

And finally, my beloved happiedori (Sam, I want more!)

I carry it very often, to take notes, to brainstorm ideas (always thinking of things to do, try, or ideas in general, phrases that I like ....) And it is really perfect and comfortable. I took several inserts, each filled with different things.

One Insert for general ideas or things I need to check later.
The second insert is for drawing, stamping, washi tapes samples storage ....

The third insert is for an overview of the week.
And the last insert is mainly for mix media testing, particularly watercolors and stamps!

Have you seen the popsicle charm? It is made from shrink plastic. I was inspired by Sam's Page Marker design from June Planner kit.

Well, today is up to here, I hope you like it or at least you are inspired with some interesting idea, see you soon with more inspiration!

Besos y abrazos!

XOXO

Planners | Life's Sweet In My Daily Planner

Hi Dearie =) I hope you girls (and guys) have a great weekend over there! I had a rather relaxing (but tiring long weekend here) as we had public holidays on Friday and Monday as well. So having such a long weekend means I had not been working on my little online store or packing mails (since there is no mailman picking up the mail). I am feeling a tad tired as Baby #2 has been really active in my tummy and Ivan is staying home 24/7 with me due to school holiday.

When Ivan was sleep, I was craving for some sweet bubble tea. Unfortunately I gotta resist the temptation of fixing my sweet tooth as drinking anything cold would make me having terrible backache recently. My awesome gynae says I could basically have everything and anything I feel like but I found that drinking ice tea or eating ice cream cause my backache to be worsen.

So my solution for my sweet tooth is to make some sweet stuff for my daily planner. I have already made plenty of coffee & tea paper clips and book marks a while ago, so this time round I am making a dashboard and page marker to complete the whole theme.

I use 2 pieces of journalling card (in 3x4) tape it down and sent it to my laminator, punch holes and they are just perfect size as page marker for my personal sized planner.

And here's my dashboard / dividers with a sweet coffee cup.  I am not a coffee person but my lactose intolerance has gone really worse since I gave birth to Ivan. So I am currently drinking a cup of coffee (with a tad of sugar, without creamer / milk) daily instead of my favourite hot cocoa.

I have also designed some to-do list and weekly inserts for my planners. I am thinking of putting them up in my (currently inactive) Etsy store soon. Do let me know if you are interested ;)

Layout | My Art Journal Pages + Selfie *LoraBailora*

Hello people, I had a good news that I shared on my instagram a while ago ;)

YEs yes, I am one of the DT girl for Lora Bailora Design Team. I am so proud to be on this crazily talented team. Laura is a sweet Spanish girl who designs her own line of stamps and embellishments. I started follow her on her Instagram ages ago when I started instagram, say 2 years ago. I am always in awe with her talents and cute designs. So you guess I was literally  jumping in joy when she emailed me to invite me to join her amazing team. I love stamps as they are perfect for scrapbooking, card making, project life and also for planning purpose, plus they don't take up a whole lot of space which I could hoard them forever! LOL.

p.s. I also have a thing for Spanish as my hubs used to learn Spanish and stayed there for 6 months ;) So whenever someone commented Spanish on my instagram feed, he will translate the comments for me.

Here's one of my art journaling using the geometric stamp. This page was to journal something bad happened and I spoke to one my good friend (DIYFish) on Facebook about it. Can't thank her enough for her words of wisdom so I decided to pair these cute triangles in the Geometric stamp set with her words of wisdom: No matter what you do, how good you are, you can NEVER please everyone. So true and i just have to learn being perfect + stop stressing myself out. I stamped the various sizes and patterns of triangles using Versa Color cube. I have these cute little ink cubes in almost all the shades and keep them all in 2 boxes of Ferrero Rocher box.

Next up would be scrapbook page that I made the quilt-inspired background with Geometric stamp set again. I can't seem to get enough of the cute triangle patterns yet. I stamped rows and rows of chevron triangles on 1/2 pieces of white card stock to have a balanced background. I like that the left side of the background is crazily colourful and the right side has pretty white space. I love how the white space balance out the rainbow triangles and help drawing your eyes to the background instead. This is a photo of me and my boy during his very first Zoo trip. On a side note, we were so excited to bring him to see the real lion but when we reach the lion den, the lions were all taking nap.ZZZzzz. And we wanted to bring him to see elephants instead but little boy was way past his nap time and started getting grumpy and yawning all the way. So we went home without visiting the elephants. Anyways, I am hoping to go to the zoo again and I am sure he could benefit a lot from seeing the REAL ANIMALS than seeing them on Youtube =)

Remember to check out Laura's etsy store to get her stamps and embellishments here. She has such a cute little store!

Alrighty, I am sure you could tell I am pretty crazy about triangles right now, don't ask me why ;) I hope you enjoy looking at my pages and you have a great day!
Thanks again for dropping by!

XoXo,
Sam
